Are you kidding?? Wild horses couldn't keep me from going out! I'll shop 'till I drop.

I'm starting Thursday night and only hitting places open Thursday and at midnight... then I'm done

Maybe? Depends on how I feel and how early I wake up

Maybe. But only online. If I think about it.

Yes, but only online. Who wants to deal with crowds and parking and lines?? Crazy people...

    Probably not.

    Nope. I don't shop, so I couldn't care less.

Not dealing with any of that crap. I'm sleeping in and enjoying the day off... and leftovers.

I'm not from the States... you silly people and your "Black Friday"

Might do some online shopping…but going to the stores and getting stepped over? No thank you.

I used to work retail so ever since I quit I avoided this day.  Usually I just watch basketball or football all day.  I will be looking at some online sales to see if there is anything good.  And I would be open to going to a store to get something at maybe 9 am (I would have to look through the ads to even decide if there is anything I want in the first place).  But out in line on Thanksgiving?  HELL NO.

I never go, but I have convinced the rest of my family members to stay home Friday in support of the Walmart protests. Corperate greed is out of control.

@HappilyEverAfter54:  This makes me sad to read..  It’s so hard for me to fathom that there are people like this.

I’m just begging that the people who go out shopping are nice to the employees. I worked in a grocery store for three years, and the craziest times were always Easter morning and Thanksgiving morning for the last minute shopping, and I worked every one of those mornings (but always got off in time to make the holiday).

This is my first year working retail, this is my 2nd part time job I’m working. And while I don’t want to, I will be damned if some crazy mofo trying to save money disrespects me. I will cuss them out, and won’t even care if I get fired. This is literally extra income to me right now, that is very nice and helpful, but not necessary.

Just be nice people… especially to the retail workers.

I have never been shopping on Black Friday and I never will. It’s just not worth it. People get trampled to death, you guys. My boyfriend and I can’t travel to be with our families for Thanksgiving beause he has to be at work (retail) at the ass-crack of dawn the next day. Last year he got screamed at and cussed out walking through the parking lot to the store entrance because people thought he was a customer trying to cut in line.

My mom said there have been people lined up at one Best Buy SINCE SUNDAY. That’s just insane.

Anyone who tells me they’re going out shopping Friday I say “Suckers. I’ll be sleeping in and gorging on leftovers.” The “Not dealing with any of that crap” answer definitely fits! Haha.

It’s been about a dozen years since I’ve shopped on Black Friday.  I used to enjoy going out with my mother, aunts and cousin whenever we all gathered in my hometown for Thanksgiving.  However, that hasn’t occurred in many years, and I never go “home” to my parents’ for Thanksgiving anymore now that I’m married.  DH always has work obligations, and his two minor children (of whom we have 50 percent custody) need to split every Thankgsgiving Day and Christmas Day between their parents’ households.

Finally, even if I wanted to go Black Friday shopping this year (which I don’t), I can’t, since I just had major surgery last week.

It makes me feel sick to know that the reason I, and many other retail employees, will not be with their families on Thanksgiving due to having to sleep before an overnight shift that starts on a holiday… is that some people get a thrill out of fighting over cheap merchandise.

News flash: the sales are not even that great. The cheap prices are on the cheap stuff, 9 times/10, not the great deals everyone thinks they are getting.

In my store, most employees are NOT just teens or college students who jump at the chance to make time and a half on a holiday. They are moms and dads, wishing they could be home with their families.

Boycott Black Thursday AND Friday. Shop online. Shop local. Stay home and share a meal, or if you just HAVE to go out, how about volunteering with a local shelter or relief group. You can even do it with friends and family, it would be a much better bonding experience and greater “high” than watching the hordes fight over junk.

I’ve only been out on Black Friday once. It was a day to remember…

    Key moments include:

Women beating each other with purses while fighting over another purse.

Women shoving each other and crowding around a table full of…socks. Yes, socks.

Wedging myself into a safe little corner while bawling my eyes out as my panic attacks raged to maximum anxiety-ness.

We left the store with…nothing, because other customers were literally not letting us touch anything, it was their stuff. This happened at a department store, so I don’t know and shudder to even think about how bad it is at a mall.

Nope. I’ve never been much of a black friday shopper, but I’m working midnight until 8am, then 6-10pm friday night as well. I work at Dick’s sporting goods.

Cyber Monday will be my big shopping day. Though I am really tempted to go to walmart and protest, if they employees choose to do so at the walmart near me. It sounds like fun.
