Yes I love my job AND my career field!

I love my job but not my field

I love my field but not my job

    I'm indifferent about both

I dislike my job and/or field

I actively hate my job and/or field

I love my career field, and I love my job most of the time. I am a graphic designer and right now a lot of my job deals more with online marketing – keeping websites updated as well as social sites. I absolutly love designing, just don’t get to do a lot of it right now, other than freelance jobs on the side. I work for a construction equipment sales company – so what I don’t like about my job is that we are super slow right now. Being bored at work is no fun!

I’m working at my husband’s family business. I love the company (7 people, 6 of which are family), the job is easy and pays well, but the industry is not remotely interesting to me (industrial supply – my degree is in geology)

My last job I enjoyed my company very much (fantastic benefits, catered lunches every Wednesday, large bonuses every 2 months… oil companies are rolling in money) but the job was very demanding and I constantly felt stretched to the limits of my intelligence. They don’t even look at your resume if you didn’t graduate college with above a 3.4 GPA at a state school or 3.5 at other schools. So I was surrounded by very intelligent people with tons more experience than myself. Add to that that I was living an hours travel away (through train, which wasn’t so bad) but it just turned into very long, draining days. The family business is about a 5 minute drive, which I carpool with my husband to, woohoo!

I love my job, and I love my field!  I graduated a little over two years ago in a different field, but I am in the non-profit world now.  My work involves events and a lot of relationship building, and fundraising.  I did a fundraising job while I was in college that led me in this direction instead of my major.  My job is great and I get to meet and work with amazing, dedicated, and wonderful people. The events are fantastic, even if it can get a bit stressful throughout the year, and I love feeling like I can help make a difference every single day.

For the first time in my life I can say yes! I work for a company that looks after us so well, and in a team that is really close and has such a laugh (but also succeeds and always hits our targets!)

I work in travel marketing, and absolutely love it, although it does just make me want to go on holiday all the time!

@soontobemrsm11:  its funny you posted this, bc I just posted yesterday about how I love my job so much that I don’t want to finish school. I love my job and I love the career I am.
I work for a property management company in Manhattan and I work in the accounting department.

my DH wants me to finish school though but I am just not motivated to finish bc I am comfortable where I am now in my job.

I’m really interested in the field I work in (working with court-involved kids), but it’s not what I want to do permanently. I am in the midst of applying to grad school to become a teacher. I love my current job, though, and will definitely miss it when I leave!

@soontobemrsm11:  I love my current job (well as much as anyone can love going to work, lol). I’m a teacher and I work at a private school – although we get paid less, it’s a lot less pressure than public schools and we usually have better students. I enjoy going to work (waking up in the morning sucks though). I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

I’m in the ‘Other’ category. I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE my job – but I’m in transition right now, it’s been very stressful and I’m worried that our next project might not be as amazing as the last. Trying to stay positive.

I love many things about my job and the lifestyle it has given me, but currently… the situation is sucky. I’m glad it’s ending soon!

@MrsPanda99:  I’m with ya… I’m in consulting and cannot wait for this contract to come to an end… it was great for many years (multi-year project) and now it’s completely changed and almost over!

I loved it but now that management has changed, I absolutely hate it.

My job is okay, but I would rather be in a field where I had more interaction with people.  But my job pays extremely well so thats what has kept me here.

I like what I do, I just don’t like the conditions I do it in. I am a one person lab which is a lot of work and responsibility. I have no back-up when I get sick and I spend all day every day alone. In my last lab our funding was more stable, I had some awesome co-workers and I absolutely loved that job.

I love my job and my field. My job makes me happy because I counsel individuals on their career goals and then together (the client and I) make a plan for employment.

I like my job well enough. I really like my co-workers. I wouldn’t say I love it, but it’s good enough.
