I absolutely love both my e ring and wedding band. Their settings are perfect. Even though my stone is nice sized, I would still prefer it a tiny bit bigger. Fiance could have afforded a much bigger diamond, but he went with the smaller one. Someday we’ll upgrade, but I’m not holding my breath. I still love my e-ring. It’s been almost a year since I was engaged and now my ring means a lot to me.

I love mine the way it is. I picked it out, but it was the only one of its kind at the store. It was basically on clearance lol. I was kinda bummed, as I thought I wasn’t going to get it, because I knew Fiance didn’t have any money for a down payment, and I didn’t know when, so that meant it could have easily been purchased. So I trusted his judegement to get me something similar. Well, he totally freakin surprised me with the ring I wanted! Sly dog.

Mrs Estep, I vote for you to keep your band diamond-less!

My ring is beautiful and petite. Some days I wish I had a larger center stone– more like a 1/2 carat, except on the days when I seem to whack my diamond on everything and anything.

I think rather than changing or messing with my e-ring, I’ll just get a RHR one day that has detail and a vintage look to it. I love vintage rings and ornate rings, but I really like that my e-ring is so simple and classic. I have a love-hate relationship with the knife edge band… I may just change the band up one day. I plan on getting a skinny diamond wedding band, or starting with a plain band and adding a skinny diamond band later on.

@sherryberry: I vote the same I do believe! I didn’t make the mock up photo looking to change it. I just did it out of pure fun & being bored. haha I LOVE my solitaire! It is the main reason I picked it! That & it being a marquise. I always, always wanted a solitaire! I just wanted to see what it would look like with a pave band that matched my diamond wedding band for fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

My answer is going to be a long one…

I am from Norway and there we don’t even have engagement rings like they do here (I now live in the US). Engagement rings are either plain like wedding bands or they don’t use engagement rings at all. So when my fiancé (he’s american) asked me what kind of ring I wanted, I told him I wanted a princess cut, three stones and I honestly didn’t care about any of it. Whatever he wanted was fine.

Got my ring, a few days later he upgraded it because he wanted something bigger. I still didn’t care, since having an engagement ring was something I never thought I would have at all, but I suggested to add stones down the side (pavè?) instead of getting a bigger center stone. He did want the bigger center stone though, so he upgraded it to a 1.35 center stone and 0.53 side stones. Anyways, now that I’ve lived here for a year I realized that if I would have chosen a ring now, I would want pavè, so we upgraded it last week (another week and I’ll get it back, I feel naked!). We added three stones down the side and even upgraded the center stone to a 1.83 ct.

So when I get is back, it will be the perfect ring and I wouldn’t want to change anything at all. Pavè or diamonds down the sides are a lot more me, since the old ring was more plain and it didn’t feel 100% ME. It will be the same setting though, I loved the setting of my old ring.

Short answer: Wouldn’t want to change anything now, no.

I’m really, really unhappy with my ring. We’ve been engaged for nearly a year now and I still dont see it as my engagement ring. ๐Ÿ™

I never wanted a diamond, so my man got an aquamarine ring (my fav stone) from his grandma and he proposed with that, saying “you can change it, do whatever you want with it, we can get a completely different ring if you want.”

great! I thought of ways we could keep the original ring at first, but his grandmother doesnt want us to cut it (something he didnt realize preproposal)

The main problem is that the stone is HUGE. 6 carats, nearly. I am not all that girly and feel self conscious all the time wearing such a giant, princessy ring. When I am out, I often turn the ring so that the stone is facing inward! I’m starting to get a callous (sic?) on my finger from doing this.  Also, the color is really deep for an aquamarine, and I wanted a light stone (almost white with a tint of blue)

Its just not me at all. I work with my hands a lot, so I can’t even wear it to work as it is already being damaged (aqua is a soft stone, and a large stone in a raised setting makes it difficult to keep nice.)

So, we made the decision to get me a different ring. Except he hasn’t. at all. Not really looked, not gone ring shopping with me, nothing. I gave him some time at the beginning but now I cant help but bring it up every 2 weeks or so and I’m getting really angry and hurt. He has not made this a priority, so I feel like what he said when he proposed was a line! I just look wistfully at the picture of my dream ring I showed him pre-engagement all the time. Its actually making our engagement really not fun. I’m at a loss for what to do now. ๐Ÿ™

I am sorry you feel so sad.  in your situation i would be tempted to just him him the aquarmarine ring back…..because if he is going to get you a new one you dont really need to wear it anymore.  and it may hurry him up a bit more if he sees you havent got a ring at all.

i hope he gets you your dream ring soon..  (((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
