LOVE IT.  So much better than mine and so excited to take his name!  Never before did I ever want to take anyone’s name, I was one of those “I’m me, I’m independent, I’m never going to take a man’s name” girls – and I’m still super independent and support anyone who feels that way – but I love my FI’s last name and I would be so proud and honored to have it.  Can’t wait to be Mrs. Kopp for real 🙂

I’m going from a mispronounced and misspelled short last name… to one that even I have a hard time pronouncing… I’m not super thrilled about having a super long last name that is crazy to spell. BUT I love the fact that I’m taking his name. And I’m excited about that.

You bet I was!!  My maiden name is a long Polish name (an “-ski” name).  My married name is SO much easier to pronounce.  The way it looks is the way you say it.

I went from having a pretty common last name to having a name that I have to pronounce and spell out multiple times just so the person on the receiving end can still butcher it. Don’t get me wrong, I love that my husband and I share a last name but the transition was no picnic.

I like it, but if/when I take it it will mess up my initials.  They currently spell out my nickname, which is really cool.  If I take his last name they’ll just be lame and pathetic sounding.  ):

Yes, I love it!  Partly because I currently have my ex-husband’s last name still and partly because I really love his name.  I’m excited to change it, in fact, today I ordered new business cards, a name plate for my office and informed HR and IT that I’ll have a new name as of Sep 22.  Yay!

My current last name starts with a C and my new last name starts with a M. I told my Fiance I will now be in the middle of the line now. All my life I was close to the front, lol. They are both easy last names so I was happy with it.

I love love love my surname, it means so much to me, but I am also happy to take my H2B’s name, it shares the name of a rather lovely Jamaican Rum lol

Yup- honestly not a huge change, just a different ethnicity. Just as long, just as difficult to proounce/spell, maybe a bit more unique but that’s a good thing.

I’ll be going from an uncommon but still easy to spell and pronounce long last name to a slightly less uncommon shorter last name that’s hard for people to spell and pronounce correctly. I’m excited to take his last name because I love it, but it’ll definitely be a change for me to actually have to spell it out.
