I am, my Maid/Matron of Honor is planning mine. We are doing a weekend in a lake resort. Just the girls planning exploring the area, shopping, and relaxing for the weekend.

FI’s having one because he wants a chance/excuse to hang out with all of his friends. A lot of them are from out of state and/or are in the military, so it takes quite the event to gather them all up. Actually, I’m doing it for pretty much the same reason; it’s just a chance to hang out with my BMs all at once. I’m also doing it because I’m afraid I would regret not doing it since it’s one of the traditional ‘check marks’ for a wedding, if you will.

I’m definitely not doing it to mourn the loss of my singlehood, though!

You mean, an excuse to party with a bunch of friends in my honor and to celebrate the fact that I am about to get married? Heck yes I am having one! Fiance is too!

Yeah, I am skipping that option. Just not really my cup of tea. Not sure about my Fiance though, we haven’t really discussed it.

Yes!  And I just got my invite from my sister today!! We are going to hang out at my sister’s house, drink good margaritas and have a mellow, fun time with the girls.  I’m not interested in strippers or barhopping, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want a chance to have fun with my close friends!

I think we’ll both have parties, though not traditional.  I’d imagine he’ll hang out with his friends and play pool, or play guitars.  And that’ll be the extent of any partying. 🙂

And for my plan, I think we’re going to go apple picking and have a picnic!  Totally dorky, though so right up my alley.  (We’ll be in the area with lots of nice apple orchards).  And, I think it’ll be nice to have the chance to do that because I’ll be able to visit with my out of town guests who I may not be able to spend as much time with during the wedding.

Oh, and Fiance will shoot some guns, eat some steak, and drink some bourbon.  It will be a great time for him, as well.

@dynamic_duo: Definitely no penis necklaces for me, either, lol. And no random guy interaction, either :P. I just need an excuse to have a couple bms come in from out of town to celebrate with us :).

We’re both having one though neither will be typical bachelor/ette parties (well if my Future Brother-In-Law listens to Fiance and does what Fiance wants to do).

My girls and I are going out to a nice dinner and then to an off-broadway show. We’ll probably go to a local pub afterwards for some drinks. Fiance would like to go to a comedy show and out for some beers but my Future Brother-In-Law has made it clear that he doesn’t care what Fiance wants and that strippers will be involved. I don’t care either way but Fiance is adamant on not wanting strippers. I guess we’ll see how it pans out.

Both of us are having parties.  His will probably be slightly less “traditional” than mine, but will still likely end at a “gentleman’s club.”

Mine on the other hand will be the most immature night of heavy drinking.  I’ve requested all the phalic items my girls can get their hands on.  For some reason I really want the entire area to know that it’s my bachelorette party.

When my Maid/Matron of Honor got married she requested a low key evening of drinks and bar hopping.  It was fun and very much her thing.  I think there are definite pros to any sort of pre-wedding outting.

I figure it would just be a group of girls heading to a piano bar or out for drinks. Nothing scandalous. And the boy would just hang out with his buds and play video games or watch wrestling DVDs. Party hard …

I’m having one but it’s not going to be me in a veil with a passel of squealing chicks forcing me to eat penis shaped pasta all night long.  My BFF (who is a guy) wants to hire a male stripper, ha!  Maybe we’ll all just head to Windsor and go to Danny’s, I don’t know.  Do male strip clubs even allow male patrons inside? I’m sure we’ll all just end up at a bar getting shit-faced like we used to in the good old days.  Fiance, on the other hand, is going to Vegas.  I hope he doesn’t do anything too crazy.
