I think it depends what’s behind the head table as to whether or not you need one.

For some reason there’s a big industrial door behind our head table so I chose to cover it up with some draped fabric and uplighting behind it.

I think the curtain and moss balls sound really nice for a rustic wedding, I’m just having a hard time picturing the burlap. I’m sure it can all be worked together to look amazing, just without a picture it’s hard to give a good opinion. I would look at your venue and see if it’s even necessary, because they can cost way more money than they are worth sometimes lol.

Do you have any photos of your reception location?  Would be easier to envision with knowing what is already there.

We are having a backdrop, but that is because our head table is on the same level as the rest of the other tables and it’s a way to highlight that this is where everyone is sitting. Ours is the traditional sheer white material with white lights, but we are also having blue uplighting on it to give it a pop!

we are having a lighted backdrop behind the head table to cover up the black curtains that are currently behind the head table.  i wanted to hide them because i didn’t like the way that it looked

They have a very beautiful mural where the headtable usually goes at our venue. However, this huge scene of italy has nothing to do with our modern theme, so i think i want to have a backdrop to cover it. We are still trying to decide though…
