- Wedding: June 2009
I am getting married in June in Chicago and my Future Mother-In-Law is throwing a smaller dinner party reception in July in fi’s hometown in Noth Country San Diego a couple weeks after we’re back from the honeymoon.
We’ll obviously have a professional photographer at the wedding and reception in Chicago, but it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to hire a photographer to shoot the 2nd reception for a short period. It’s going to be a picture-perfect setting, at a family friends estate on a mountain with a gorgeous view. We’ll probably have a little bit of a program too(some toasts, slideshow, etc).
I haven’t spoken to Future Mother-In-Law about it yet, so I don’t know what she’ll think, but I wanted to see what the consensus here is. I would probably offer to pay for it (though she still might think the idea is weird.)
Is that a normal thing to do, or am I crazy for wanting professional photos from a evening dinner party (2nd) reception?
