We had one and I am SO SO thankful we got one. It’s totally a different experience watching it. I splurged on my photographer MAJOR and spent way less on my video but am still so so glad did it. It’s so fun to relive the day. I definitely watch the video more than I look at the pictures. DO IT!!! 🙂

The only videographers I liked cost $3,500+ and we just couldn’t justify the cost so we are foregoing it altogether.

We’re having a friend video the ceremony so that our grandparents can see it.  (My grandmother and FI’s grandfather are too elderly to make the trip to our wedding.)  The friend who is doing the videography teaches media at a high school and he works for the local access cable network.  He has also video-ed 12 weddings already, so I think he’ll do an excellent job.  AND he’s free!  He’s giving us our wedding video as our wedding present 🙂

I didn’t want a videographer, until I heard someone saying it was their biggest regret.  That years from now, being able to hear family members who have passed, will make the money you spend today worth it.  It’s true.  Hearing their voice will not compare to just seeing pictures.

Okay, so I definitely chose to invest more money into the photographer rather than do videography too. But looking back on it, I’m thinking that it would have been really nice to have one for specific instances like the toasts and stuff. I’ve heard a lot of people say that they never even watch their tapes, but I think part of me wishes I had had one…

I’m a bride to be and also a wedding videographer.

So it is a defintely very important that I capture my wedding on video, you don’t look at it as often as the pictures but they’re a wonderful thing to treasure and to show when years have gone by.

I’m a young videographer but with 6 years of experience. I’m located in California near Los Angeles and with very reasonable prices. If you’re interested email me at [email protected]
