I’ve always loved the idea of a wedding toss as we leave the church and walk down the stairs to the car in waiting. I initally wanted white rose petals but my florist quotes $100+ for 130 guests. As a back up I’ve shifted to lavender buds as our signature cocktail has lavender and our colors are plum and lavender.
Anyone have opinions on having a wedding toss and what kind you prefer based on what you’ve seen/experienced?

I’ve never seen it done, but I imagine the lavendar buds would be so gorgeous (and smell good, too!).

I went to a wedding whre they threw lavendar. I think it was nice. I don’t like how it smells… but it was still good 🙂

I did dried lavender as my wedding flowers. They cost $15 a bunch at the wholesaler. I made sachets out of them when we were done…about 1 sachet per bunch. It seems like it would be spendy to have them tossed at you. Also, they are like little burrs. They would stick in your hair and all over your dress (and your guests’ too). You might want to test drive the lavender toss.

Thanks for everyone’s responses.
@als87: You’re right, that picture is beautiful. Especially in black and white! Thanks for sharing.
@Melini: That’s a great point, thanks for bringing that up.
I found lavender in 1lb bulk on Amazon for $11.99: http://www.amazon.com/Rinas-Garden-Lavender-Flower-Buds/dp/B0011ELB3E
@kperry3: Funny you mention it… I love lavender but I smelled a sachet recently and didn’t think it smelled at like the lavendar lotions/perfumes I’m used to. Hmm
