I know this is becoming more and more popular as I’ve been to weddings where at the start you see the couple’s dog carrying a horseshoe or I’ve seen wedding photos where they put a bow tie on the dog and so on. There’s even a wedding grooming and minding service business been set up I know of for someone to essentially spruce your dog up for your wedding, take them there on your big day and look after them so they can be in the pictures then take your pet home again whilst you party away. Anyone doing this?
We’re not as there’s no such service near to us, but also our dog is huge and logistically it just wouldn’t work with the travelling etc on the day. Sad he can’t be in one of our wedding photos though, that’d be cute! But it is guaranteed he’d want to be by our sides constantly and cover all the guests in white hair soooo nahhhh sadly he’ll have to miss our big day.

Probably, but we are getting married near our house and will have dog sitter take him for the night after the ceremony. We are also getting married in a public wedding, so having him wouldn’t be an inconvenience. Our wedding is small and we aren’t doing Bridal Party. i think it will be sweet for Fiance to have his best friend there beside him. 🙂
I found someone on etsy who makes fancy dog collars and ties that I’ll probably order.

Ii didn’t involve my dog, no. Dogs aren’t permitted to attend weddings where I got married and to be honest, I don’t really think he would have been a lot of help! Between him and my beautiful but totally excited 2 and a half year old granddaughter who was my bridesmaid I can only imagine that utter chaos would have resulted!

*public garden, not wedding.

We asked our cats if they’d like to be in the wedding, and they ignored us. We’re assuming that means no.

MrsSpagan: sure did! We had him and 3 humans in our bridal party :). Here we are, complete with bow tIe! He walked down the aisle off leash with my sister who handed him treats (very food motivated). We had our best man hold him during the ceremony up front, he was in photos and even had his own grand entrance into the reception to “who let the dogs out”. He then went home with a pet sitter 🙂

MrsSpagan: I’d love to have them, but it’s at a restaurant and they’d be a big pain anyway. But I might be having a painting of a tree done so I can put leaves on it so people can sign them. She’s going paint my dogs underneath the tree. I love that!!

We decided to leave our doggie at home. i think it would add to our stress to have him there (even tho I love him so much!). Just bc he is very attached to us and would have to be by our sides. But he will be in my getting ready photos and I’m totally getting him a bow tie 🙂

- Wedding: June 2015 - Ashelynn Manor
We are hoping to have him there only between the ceremony and reception for pictures. We are also taking our engagement pictures with him 🙂 I wish he was good enough to be included in the ceremony, but he would want to say hello to every single person he passed down the aisle!

My friend J had her 3 Alaskian malamutes at her wedding. They got married outside and had 2 handlers (they show j’s dogs at shows for her). The dogs were very well behaved at the ceremony. There is a great photo of j, her husband c and the three doggies after. the dogs were taken home after the ceremony and the reception was at a golf club.

Our beleoved dog passed away suddenly not too long ago. So we won’t be getting the chance to include her. My fiance absolutely adores his cat too, but we can’t exactly have a cat just chilling out at our venue! So I’m stealing a friends idea and getting a high quality photo cardboard cutout of our pets to put at the feet of our sweetheart table. My friend has a large lab that is baisically her child, and she wanted to have a cut out of him for the photobooth.

I had lifesize cutouts of the cats, cake toppers which looked like them, and a cat themed wedding cake…

No our pets werent with us at our wedding. trying to drag 2 cats around all day just didn’t seem like a good idea!

I WISH I could have my dog in our wedding! I would be such a happy camper! She gets really needy when she isn’t with me, and can’t see me. I don’t want to charge someone with watching her the whole night and I would be worrying about someone giving her a ton of food or her getting loose or something. Plus, our venue doesn’t allow it! 🙁 <br />But you BET I would bring her in a heartbeat if I could!!

If I had my way my girl doggy would be my bridesmaid, my boy doggy the ring bearer and my kitten the flower girl!
But aside from reception venues not allowing pets my dogs just get way to excited to meet people! Oh and my cat doesn’t seem to like going outside, she holds onto me ever so tightly if I carry her out there!
