    For the cake!

To see all the traditions - cake, dances, garter toss, etc.

    For the food!

    For the alcohol!

    To celebrate with the couple!

    I go for the dancing!

I don't go, or I leave as soon as I can!

    The cake is a lie!

haha. I had to after I read the title. I go to weddings to ogle the pretty dresses, so I don’t mind as long as there is dessert of some kind. ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree with your mom, but also wouldn’t care if you were providing some other form of dessert (pie). As long as I have dessert I would be happy lol.

    Mmmm pie….

I go to celebrate with the couple. Dessert is jsut an added bonus. And I, at least, prefer pie to cake, by a lot.

I come to party with the couple!

But… if I have to pick one thing I like most at weddings- it’s the Bride’s dress! I love, love, love seeing bride’s dresses. I think that’s why people go to the wedding itself- to see the dress walk down the aisle. lol

All of the above ๐Ÿ™‚ But I love pie so having pie ILO cake would be fine by me!

Ugh my mom is the same way. Everytime I show her a picture of a cake design I like she always asks “but bigger right?” She is dead set on having this gigantic multi-tiered buttercream monstrosity even thought we will only be having, at most, 65 guest because according to her the two things people care most about in a wedding are the dress and the cake. I seriously have never gone to a wedding excited for cake, I usually kind of forget about it.

I would be a bit disappointed because I do love cake but I would get over it quickly.

I never remember if there was a cake but I always remember if the food was good or not. Pies sound delicious, a lot more people like those ๐Ÿ™‚

I adore cake, & am excited to have one at my wedding, but I think it’s totally up to the couple to choose what THEY want!  The reception is the celebration time after the ceremony; I know people love food, and that can be a motivation for some, but I’ve never heard of someone not going because there wouldn’t be cake!  ๐Ÿ™‚  And pie is yummy, too!  I love your “untraditional” choice!

I love cake, but sometimes the cake isn’t a flavor I like anyways so I may skip it.  Dancing, drinking, and having a great time/celebrating is the main reason for the reception.

The cake (provided it is good cake, which it usually is) is definitely one of the things I look forward to. I hate watching the garter stuff, but I like the dances and all that just fine. Of course, the real reason you go is to celebrate the couple, and if the couple wants pie, fine, but I hate pie (except for keylime). Hate is maybe too kind of a word, but it’ll do.
