I feel like I see sooooo many bees from Boston (or MA in general)? Are you from Boston? Is your wedding located here?
I’m in the MetroWest area, our wedding is happening at a farm in Central Ma 🙂 I’ve lived in the area for almost 8 years now! I love living in New England.

I grew up in and around Boston (moved a few times as a kid). Now I live right by the Bourne Bridge (almost the cape lol) with Fiance. He’s from central Mass so this was a nice change for him.
We’re getting married in the Berkshires, though. We met in western Mass in college, but couldn’t find anything in the area that we liked/was available. So the Berkshires it is! I wanted a place that would showcase the leaves in October 🙂

somethingbee: Born in FL, grew up in WI, moved to Boston for school and now live on the south shore.
Wedding is in Boston though! I love it here and can’t wait to share my home with my family and friends from out of state!

somethingbee: Boston bee here! We had our wedding reception at the WaterWorks Museum and it kicked ass! It’s such a cool space and the museum is free (well, to visit for a day….the renting it out part was most definitely NOT free hahaha)

I am in Boston! Fiance and I haven’t found a venue yet, but I would love to have a city wedding if we can afford it.

Sashley: check out the Millennium Bostonian. Not sure what your budget is, but they’ve been great to me and are much more affordable than some places I looked. Their customer service is unreal and its right in fanueil hall with amazing views

I moved here in 2006 for my first job out of college and then stayed for grad school and am now a few years out from grad school. My Fiance is from the north shore but we met at a bar in Boston. I’m from CT and our wedding will actually be there.

I am from Tri State area, but I live and work in Boston. We had our wedding at a hotel in Boston last summer and it was awesome! Love Boston, even the awful winters 🙂

I grew up in New Hampshire, but my mom grew up right outside of Boston (Medford), so I was always in the area. After college, Darling Husband (then boyfriend) moved to Boston and we’ve been here for about 4 years. We love it and he has an amazing career opportunity here, so we have no plans to leave!
We got married right downtown about a week and a half ago!
Sashley: IDK what your budget is, but we got married at the Boston College Club and it was AMAZING. A lot more affordable than other, similar venues and their special events team is so great to work with.

annb9: I’ve thought about the BC Club, but haven’t reached out to them. We met at BC, so that would be perfect!

I live in Boston and love it here! We had our wedding just outside the city. I grew up in MA and he grew up in VT.

Sashley: You should definitely reach out – I just posted a recap today of our wedding there. It was perfect and they do such a great job with everything. Their only steadfast “rule” in terms of budget is an 18K minimum on food and beverage. We went WAY over that (for 150 guests), but that’s all you have to spend, in theory (aside from the rental fee itself, which I think is like $2000 or so). Here’s a link to my recap if you’re curious: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/june-6th-boston-wedding-pro-recap-very-pic-heavy/

somethingbee: I grew up in so cal but moved here when my fi asked if I would move with him back home. I’m currently in Wellesley eating at juniper as I type this. I’m actually looking into the southwick zoo or the top of the hub to get married! I think the zoo has the enchanted forest feel that I want. But the Boston skyline ugh….

Yep, I’ve lived in the Boston/Greater Boston area for 25+ years.
Since most of our friends and family are located “in the area” (as in the Northeast as opposed to somewhere East Asia, or Down South — which is also where our families/friends reside), it seemed to make sense to have a wedding in Boston…particularly since it would be easier to plan logistically. With that said, we toyed with the idea of getting married in Toronto or Texas (again, to accomodate our other family members). But in the end, we chose Boston to make our life a little easier.
We ended up chosing this place in Cambridge: http://www.swedenborgchapel.com/Chapel/index.html
