Just curious if other bees are fully into the holiday spirit yet (if you’re going to be getting into it at all this year). Are you going around singing fa la la la la stringing garlands of good cheer, does any mention of it make you feel queasy, or are you somewhere in the middle?

I’m somewhere in the middle. I love shopping and buying gifts for my loved ones, and getting to see family I don’t usually see, but all my in-laws are out of state so there’s always a lot of travelling involved. And my bank account and waistline in January are usually pretty sad.

I wouldn’t say i’m ‘Mrs Holiday Cheer’ but I really do love this time of year, even more so now that I am a wife! I can’t wait to book all kinds of goodies for the coworkers and get presents under the tree(very soon!).

@Birdee106: I kinda know what you mean. I think I’m more into it this year than usual because we’re engaged now. It’s putting me in a wifely/family mindset…

I was feeling holiday cheer today- well, just nice really. There were lots of sweet old people at the library and I always like talking to them and it was super sunny and beautiful out.

This year is different because I’m used to being around to help finalize Christmas plans with my Grandma. We are down to one car now so I’m not able to go see her as much….so it’s different. It’s not bad but it is weird not being able to do those things I’m so used to doing. We’re trying to plan some fun things to do here 🙂

It’s been so warm here (was getting as high as 80F all this month) that it hasn’t really felt like Christmastime. It finally cooled down this week though, and it seems like everywhere is decorated. I’ve been shopping for gifts for weeks now too. And now I am off to visit the boyfriend in England tomorrow, and we’ll be getting engaged… so now the sort of Christmas excitement and wonder is really building!

I’m in the middle but trying to perk up. My Darling Husband bribed me with Starbucks to decorate the house and I’m glad I did. The closer to Christmas the merrier I become.

I’m in the finals week spirit :p I never really get that into christmas lately, to me it’s just another boring family party to go sit in the corner at.
One thing I love though is christmas lights. They don’t really make me feel christmassy though, I just like them. My roomate put them all over our house, and I put some in my fort.

Somewhere in the middle; but we put up a tree this year and decorated the house. I took a second job in retail to enjoy the discounts so I’ve been doing lots of Christmas shopping!

I just moved from Canada to Australia and it’s stinkin’ hot here and definitely does not feel like Christmas to me. People have lights up on houses and it just does not make sense at all in my head. Our house is not decorated except for the small xmas tree I gave in and bought last weekend. It’s just all backwards this year!

Absolutely not. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. It’s like this year, I can care less. I have yet to do any shopping.

100% bah humbug. I dislike Christmas and everything that goes with it. I don’t ever remember being happy about the holidays.

I hate this time of year. Pretty much Thanksgiving to Christmas just irritates me. I like seeing family and all, but I’m over all the pressure to buybuybuybuybuy and give good gifts and blah blah blah. I tell Darling Husband that if he wants a tree or any of that other nonsense, it is entirely on him, I want no parts of putting up or taking down. I think it’s all just overdone and overblown and silly.
That said, I do love Christmas music.
I kinda get this way every year, but this year is definitely worse- it’s the first year without my dad, and seeing him was always something I looked forward to on Christmas. It feels weird that my first married Christmas is also my first Christmas without Dad… Just sucks.

I have been listening to Christmas music since before Thanksgiving! I’m usually like this. I LOVE Christmas!
