I will be First Middle HisLast. I do not have any attachment to my middle name, but I do not like my current last name so I see no need to replace the middle name with it.

I can’t imagine anyone getting rid of their middle name.  Why would anyone want to? I love my middle name.  It’s my grandmother’s name: Rita.  I live in Spain and here you keep your name.  So I will continue having the same name that I was born with!

I went from First Middle Maiden to First Maiden Marriedname. I never liked my middle name, but my maiden name is part of several of my nicknames, so once I knew I wanted to take my husband’s name, it was the obvious choice. So far, the biggest hitch was my state taxes: because this made my middle initial change, they didn’t recognize that I was the same person at first. A call to the tax dept. straightened that out, though. I think. 😉

lol i’ve never heard of that before, maybe it would work out well if you had one of those first name sounding last names, but mine would just sound totally weird if i ever did that.

    i’m going [first][maiden][married]

i have 2 middle names, as it is, and they’re my godparents names.  unfortunately, neither have been a part of my life for 20 years, so i dont see a point in keeping my middle names as their namesakes!

the really cute thing is that my maiden name IS my FH’s middle name already!  so when i change my name to the above formula we will both have the same middle and last names, and our first initials are the same!

the biggest part of this, for me, is that we plan on giving our children the same combo of middle/last names… so they carry my name too (without hyphenation).  we’re not hispanic, but ive always been enamoured with how they pass on the mother’s name to the children – so our order is a little different, but it’s similar!  =D

I’m sort of torn. I’m very attached to my maiden name and I have such a great relationship with my family that it’s hard for me to give it up. If I didn’t, I’d do First. Middle. Maiden as 2nd middle. Married name. I thought about making my maiden name my middle name, but it’s a color so I don’t think it would really go!

    Tough decision!!!

aww wow i had been planning (and cant wait to) do first middle new last name! I just said it out loud and got the butterflies in my tummy, wow I can’t wait!! 🙂  Our last names are similar though (both W last names) so it wont be a drastic change! I thought it would actually be weird keeping my maiden name since our last names are so similar!!

I am dropping my maiden name too – people always misspell my maiden name and his is just easier – it’s pronounced exactly as written, although longer than my maiden name.  Plus, I’m a traditionalist at heart and can’t wait to be Megan [HisLastName]! Smile

I plan to drop that maiden name for the same reason others have said .. it’s long, it’s complicated, and in my case nobody knows how to pronounce it … I’m looking forward to his 4 letter last name!

i DO NOT want to drop my maiden name.. i love it, it is me, i love my family and i always want to be associated with them. But I know I don’t want to do the hyphen either. I know a few people who have changed their middle name and i was like, “ahhh perfect…!”  so i will be First Maiden HisLast

I love my first and middle name together, so I felt strongly about keeping them together and adding my married name to the end. I think my parents were slightly disappointed about me dropping my maiden name all-together, so I’m giving it to my son (if I have one!).
