@Mars62312:  same here! I mailed mine Saturday afternoon (at the post office), most people got them Monday. I even received a Reply card back on Tuesday!

Haha… look on the brite side, at least they asked you first rather than just put an extra name on the RSVP card.

@KatNYC2011:  hahaha–“look on the bright side”–I was just about to say:

Look on the bright side–at least “Mr./Ms. Guest Request +1” actually sent in the RSVP!

I am almost a week past my RSVP date and hunting people down, it is really frustrating. I have also had several people write in extra guests like it was no big deal.

All we can do is just keep on going and try to deal with each person one at a time.

I am fully expected my invites to be a bit of headache so I plan on opening them with a glass of wine by my side lol

HA so funny, same thing just happened to me.  We addressed our invitations to individuals only, and slipped a “please bring a date if you’d like” card into select ones of close family members/friends who are in long term relationships but don’t live together.  My classless cousin responded today “and guest” and my dad flipped.  He was like “does she think i’m going to pay almost $200 a head for a stranger we’ve never met to eat at (venue name)?  her flavors of the week are not worth that to me”.  And so it begins….

I knew it would happen.

I had the same conversation with a cousin…no, you cannot bring your “flavor of the week” hopefully that’s the only inquiry about a guest that you get.

yeah, OP, i agree with PPs who say to consider yourself lucky that they actually ASKED you.  mine just assumed and added “and guest” and filled in “2”.  OMG.  i can’t imagine doing that.

Hi date twin! We mailed ours Monday afternoon. I had some people telling me yesterday/today that they received them on Tuesday. We tried to be explicit on the invites. I’m hoping for no headaches, but I’m sure some will come up. I like the “opening them with a glass of wine” idea!
