Okay, so maybe not crazy, but..
I’ve decided to go all out and make not one, but TWO yule logs- complete with meringue mushrooms. Yea. Mushrooms out of tempermental whipped eggwhites. Oh an I’m transporting one 2.5 hours on christmas day 🙂
And I’m making two different flavors of homemade marshmallows. I did this last year, and as sticky and messy as it was it was SOOO worth it. I don’t ever want to eat another bagged marshmallow ever again.
Are you making anything that could possibly make you pull your hair out? Or am I the only insane one?

I spent 7 hours baking cookies on Saturday, that was enough craziness for me!

I’ve already made three different kinds of cookies and a pumpkin chocolate chip loaf. Still plan to make some cookie dough truffles. Nothing too insane – just a lot in terms of quantity.
I’ve decided to make Sticky Toffee Pudding for the dessert that I’m to bring to my sister-in-law’s for Christmas dinner, which is pretty staightforward. However, I did flirt with making this recipe (http://www.marthastewart.com/342413/scandinavian-princess-cake) instead of the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Then I saw the part about food colouring and marzipan, and the comments about needing three evenings to complete it, and decided that I didn’t have the patience!

@hergreenapples: That cake does look pretty intense. I don’t know if I would go through all that trouble for the doily imprinted marzipan! Although my yule logs are a genoise cake… but that’s not as annoying as coloring marzipan or fondant.
