My hotel was super accomodating becasue we were a bridal party. I would ask to speak to the event planner there. Hmmm…rethink are your guests staying there and is that where you got a block of rooms? I bet mine was more accomodating becasue of this.

We did not run into this situation, but I do work for a hotel (same family of hotels but different chain) and just wanted to add that normaly they can extend a late check out. We do up till 2pm without a charge, up till 5pm is half day. But if you speak with a manager you can usually work something out.

We stayed in the room for the whole weekend of our wedding, so this doesn’t apply to us. My husband and I slept in the suite together from the night before the wedding till the day after the wedding.

I used to work at a hotel and we had this request a lot! Granted it was a 5 star/5 diamond place that catered to A-holes but even WE charged half the room rate if a party was staying well into the next day. The reason is because it took time from confirming checkout to notifying housekeeping/actually cleaning the room/inspecting the room and then allowing an ontime check-in for the next person checking in. 3pm is checkin time for a lot of hotels. Can they allow you any extra time?

We stayed in the venue that we got married at (a B&B), and they let us keep the biggest room that we booked until the wedding so everyone could get ready in there. My husband checked into the honeymoon suite that day early to get ready in.
