Mine are paying for their own but they have absolutely free reign to find anything they feel beautiful in. I did give them a general color range to stick with so there’s some kind of cohesion but it’s important to me that they be themselves and find something that they genuinely like enough to wear again.

Two of mine paid for their own, the other two couldn’t afford it (well, one was 15 so I knew that would happen, the other older but just had her first child and was going through a breakup and having to move and losing her job and a TON of other stuff, she also happened to be my MOH), and I paid for their dresses as their gift.

Mine paid for their own dresses and alterations.  I ordered online and they all paid me back, and then I got a bill from customs for the brokerage of $35 each, and I just paid that rather than going after them to pay me again, so I voted that I paid for part.

Around here, it’s pretty traditional for the bridesmaids to purchase their own dresses. It’s part of the responsibility they assume when they assent to being one of your bridesmaids.

That being said, I did discuss finances with my girls and made sure that I picked out a dress that would work with everyone’s budgets.

I also felt bad about asking my BMs to buy for their own dresses, especially as they were long dresses and therefore more expensive. Sadly, I was also broke and could not afford to pay for them myself.

They are paying for their own, but I cleared the budget with them and ended up coming in way below that. And I’m trying to make everyone is at least comfortable with the dress, even if they don’t love it.

The budget was $150, then I found a seamstress who will make custom dresses for $40/dress for the pattern I want (some modifications). The fabric and notions were $60/dress, so a total of $100/dress. BUT! I think I am working out a trade with the seamstress so it may just be the cost of materials – $60.

They can wear whatever black shoes they want, whatever jewelry they want. I am paying for hair & makeup.

They will buy their own but we will agree to prices. Any accessories I want them to wear I will buy.

I am quietly paying for one. All of my bridesmaid are employed and before we even started shopping I ask them for max budget.

I am paying for: alterations, shoes(I want then uniform), hair, and  makeup. Almost all my bridesmaid are married and I paid for dresses and travel for their wedding so I don’t think they mind.

I felt bad having my girls pay for them so I said they could pick their own as long as they were floor length and black. Not one of them could find floor length black dresses so I ended up picking the dress and again I felt bad so I kept it under $100 including shipping. They all loved the dresses, they were very flattering and my cousin even wore hers again to a Military ball.

They did their own makeup, hair, wore their own shoes and I bought their jewelry.

They’re paying for their own.  They are only $24.  I made sure to discuss prices with them first.

Originally they were going to buy them. My Bridesmaid or Best Man are my sisters.

However, they tried on these gorgeous dresses which were out of budget (all on their own) and I decided to buy them myself so there would be no issues w/ money. They actually have no idea, I’m just going to write them checks when I see them next.
