Hi bee – I can’t imagine what you are going through right now. Maybe you just need time to process it all. What’s most important at the end of the day is the relationship you have with your partner. I’m sure that’s easy for me to say now but I know I would be just as upset and defeated and disappointed. In due time you will know what to do as far as the ceremony and reception go. What about donating the food to a local homeless shelter if you’ve already paid for it?

I’m so sorry! What date was your wedding scheduled for? Where are you located? Did the venue cancel?  Ours is May 1st and we are taking it day by day. Like you, I have no desire to get married and then plan a wedding… again. But that’s what my fiancé suggests if our venue cancels. Please keep me updated! I’ve been trying to follow as many brides in my boat as I can. Hugs Bee! Xx

That’s too bad, Penny, but I’m relieved that you made the decision to protect your guests and their loved ones by cancelling your event.

glitterati :  lol.  I don’t think this was her decision.

but I feel terrible for everyone who has to postpone or cancel their wedding celebrations.  If I were in this position I would get married now and then have the party later.  I think in this case I would say “eff etiquette.”

We’re still undecided. Our venue is a bed & breakfast. I’m hoping they’ll be open because I don’t know if we can get our money back. My mom suggested we get married on our date (May 2nd) and then she’ll pay for us to have the whole thing on our anniversary next year. So I’m looking at options now. We need to call our venue still.

I’m not hearing back from my venue but I’m planning to move my date (it’s in abt two weeks). I hope oct is late enough and they still have the room I want available. If not, next spring it is! 😭

penny1403 :  if you want to get married and the officiant is paid for then get married now.  I would be shocked that you can’t get your money back from the restaurant.

penny1403 :  Thank you. I’m not as optimistic. I feel so bad for all of us.
