I’m curious who is planning on selling their dress after the wedding. In my ideal world I’d frame my dress ala the Real Housewives but I don’t have the space for that. I think its highly silly for my dress to sit in a box in hopes my daughter will wear it (what my mom did, ha, my mom was about 40 pounds lighter than I am, no way!) and I also spent about $5000 on the dress so recouping some of that would be nice…
My one concern is that my dress is going to be significantly altered from its size since I am so short torsoed (the entire bodice and back have to be custom done) so would anyone really buy it?
So, are you selling your dress? Did you sell it already? How much of the retail did you get back for it? Was it heavily altered?

I chose other – having my dress custom made by a Chinese shop overseas. Plan on doing a trash the dress session at some point after the wedding. Haven’t worked out the specific details yet but I love the idea!

@classyashley: not selling mine, but I will be donating it after the wedding!

Mine is hanging in my closet, as I can’t currently bear the thought of getting rid of it! I’ll probably either end up donating it or trying to find some neat craft for it!

My Fiance is for some reason vehemently against me selling or getting rid of my dress. I told him he’s going to have to frame it or help me preserve or display it in that case…I don’t want it to just sit in the closet.

Mine is sat in it’s preservation ox. On one hand it is a waste but on the other I can’t bear the thought of not having it anymore.

I’m donating it but it was only $200 so recouping cost isn’t really a big deal.

I’m probably going to sell it. The only alterations made were the bustle, so I think that it will be easy for someone else to make it their own as necessary.
