I chose Starbucks b/c I work there, but I will pretty much drink any coffee! I’m not a snob about coffee shops, and I can’t stand when other people are.
I take that back…McDonalds iced coffee is nasty, so I won’t drink that! Haha.
I rarely drink anything else b/c of my discount and my free lb. a week, though…not that we have many options around here anyway.

My cafe is my Keurig. I am way too cheap to buy coffe out regularly.

At work, we have a Keurig machine. When I splurge, I go to:
– Second Cup for their light or medium roasts
– McDonald’s for a large black coffee, with one sugar
I’m a Second Cup snob (used to work there as a barista in university), so I go to Starbucks only if I have to.
I used to work at Tim Horton’s for two months. Everyone in the city refers it to the biker’s Tims.
But the best affordable blend that I’ve come across is discovered by my FI; proudly-Canadian, based in Jasper, AB: Rocky Mountain Roasters. I always look forward to working from home as I get the best cup of coffee to get my day through!

In New Zealand, Starbucks is tantamount to crap coffee.

agreed! I know a lot of kiwis who will say that Starbucks is good in the US and not here. But I have never tested that for myself.

So I like coffee a little, my SO loves coffee and my mother and sister are complete coffee addicts.
My sister worked for starbucks for 7 years. She’s a starbucks girl. While she worked there, she converted my mom. She’s a starbucks girl now, too. There is hardly ever a time I see either of them without a starbucks cup in hand. It’s ridiculous. PLUS my mom just got a Kuerig and guess what K cups she uses? Starbucks. Personally, I’m not a fan of starbucks. I think all their coffee is too strong.
As for me and my SO, we like a local company that brews coffee from central/south america (i think we like them because they don’t brew as strong) and we also like Peets! Nobody mentioned Peets in this thread yet, but I think Peets is mostly a west coast company? I know it’s based in SF. But Peets is fabulous! They also have a wonderful tea selection.

I like espresso based drinks, and but for regular coffee, I prefer a Clover. I’ll pop into any cafe for an Americano or cappuccino, but never places like Tim’s. Starbucks is on every corner and super convenient for me, so I’m there often. If I’m in my own neighbourhood, I’ll go to one of my local favourites, which actually have great beans.

Bigby! I love them, especially their winter drinks. I also voted Tim Horton’s… last time Fiance and I visited my hometown I went home with a couple bags of Tim’s…lol 🙂
