I am four inches taller than my husband, without heels. What could possibly be wrong with having a few inches on your guy for the ceremony or the reception?  Where what looks best on you and don’t make an issue of height.

I am in the same boat!  I love heels, they make me feel good.  But the ONLY thing Fiance has requested so far is that I not be taller than him at the wedding.  Normally he is very good about letting me rock my 4″ and up heels.  This means maybe 1″ heels at best, which I like less than flats.  So I have no solutions for you, but I can commiserate.

If you want to be sneaky, buy heels for photos and the reception, and use flats for the ceremony. FI’s a couple inches shorter than me if we’re standing barefoot, and I’m just going with low heels. I’m not a high heel kind of girl anyway, so I’m glad he’s short!

I am 4.5″ taller than my Fiance – you could go with flats if it bothers you or you could wear heels and slip them off for some of the pictures.

I am wearing flats for our ceremony and reception because of pictures but then after we are going out to dinner and gambling and will be wearing heels because he loves me in them ๐Ÿ™‚

ETA we noticed our photographer tried very hard to balance out our height difference in our E-pics and it really bothered us – we know I am taller and it does not bother us LOL

when i was married the first time, i married a man who was 2 inches shorter than me.  this largely decided my footwear, not just my wedding day.  i wore ballet shoes and he wore….platform shoes…..(it WAS  1985) LOL

this time around i am marrying a man 6 inches taller than me,  and please dont anyone take offense,  but i feel more womanly being smaller than him,  wearing heels and making the most of my femininity,  which is something i never did before, i sort of feel more protected somehow.

my wedding shoes have 3 1/2 inch heels…….

@anne B: I genuinely hope that the protective you feel from your new fiance have lots more to do with his inner characteristics than his height.  I am the opposite of you  – married to a man 7 inches taller than I was for 14 years where he delighted in abusing me.  Now I am engaged to a wonderful guy who makes me feel more feminine and protected ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it is the man and his internal, not external stature LOL

I’m about an inch and half taller than my Fiance so I wear flats. I used to wear flats even when I dated guys taller than me. I just like flats and I am wearing flats on my wedding day

Here is one of the pictures where you can see our height difference and yours would be even less because his dress shoes usually add 1″ and if he is already 1″ taller then you would not be taller until 3-4″

he is wearing Doc’s which have pretty thick soles and I am in flats so maybe a 2.5″ height difference

I am wearing flip flops. I hate flats on me for some reason, dont think they are confortable at all. So either plain flip flops or some fancy sandals and thats it! me and Fiance will be about the same height. I am going to by really pretty purple heals, just for pictures! I know its a little nuts but they look cute in pics where you are sitting ๐Ÿ™‚
