The concept of “favorite child” came up on a show recently. It’s also something DH and I have bantered about in the past.
Do you think your parents have a favorite child? If you have kids, do you have a favorite child? Why or why not?
I think I am my dad’s favorite because we are a lot alike, but I don’t think my mom has a favorite. I have no idea how I’ll view my future kids.

I only have one right now, so she’s technically my favorite lol.
My mom likes to joke with me that I’m her favorite (out of her three girls) but I know that she means that her and I have a different bond than she has with my little sisters. My mom had me really young, and we’ve been through a lot together. We “grew up” together, if you will.

Apparently every parent has a favorite they just will never ever admit it or tell their kids. I know for a fact that my brother is my moms favorite and I probably my dad. I only have one child so I can’t gauge 🙂

I don’t think my parents have a favorite but I’m pretty sure I’m my grandmother’s favorite grandchild. . . at least, that’s what I always tell her. 😈

I don’t have a favorite child… I have a “who is driving me less crazy at the this moment” child.
I love both my peanuts equal.

My sister has caused my parents a lot of grief in the last few years, so right now I’m definitely the favorite. But I’m sure it’s switched off over the years. I don’t have kids, yet, but I know I’ll definitely have a favorite. I already have a favorite pet of our 3.
In case anyone is wondering, this is my favorite child:

I am the favorite child. I am the worst child. It just depends what day it it because I’m the only child

I’m pretty sure I’m the favorite. But I’m also the one who gave my parents a lot less grief and a lot more respect. I love my brother and sister for who they are as they really are great people overall, but no doubt they can be difficult.
I think I’m also my maternal grandparents’ favorite. I’m the first/oldest grandchild so I have a slight edge there and other than my siblings, we only have one cousin so not a lot of competition, but still haha.
I only have one dog and I honestly worry about getting a second because I don’t want to favorite my current baby over a new one. I can’t imagine how it is with children!!

Both my husband and I are the golden children (I am one of three, he is one of two.) we will only have one child, so she will definitely be the favorite.

Growing up, I don’t think I was the favourite child. But I think I’m my mom’s favourite now 🙂

“Golden” is a good word.
OP, I dont’ think that my parents actually had a “favorite child.” My brother was definitely the “golden” child in that he was the most like them and the best student, the straightest arrow out of all of us. But, you know, they loved each of us in our own way.

I’m my father’s least favorite child. It wasn’t fun growing up & it’s not any more fun as an adult.

If I spend time with a family, I can usually tell who the favourite is. I think parents feel bad about having favourites, and that’s why they always lie and say no haha. I was an only child. My Fiance was def the favourite, because his brother was terrible as a child. Now, his brother has way more $ and spends more on them (bought new appliances, taking them turks & caicos, etc) so I think the favourite has shifted.

I am for sure my moms favorite. It’s so obvious. lol

OH hell yes! In my mother’s eyes my brother can do no wrong.
In my father’s eyes my brother doesn’t exsist.
In my mother’s eyes. I can do better.
In my father’s eyes I’m there.
No wonder I have issues. LOL
