First to get engaged, and first/will be first to get married.

First to get engaged, but not first/will not be first to get married.

Not the first to get engaged, but first/will be first to get married.

Not the first to get engaged, and not the first/will not be first to get married.

Yes! But definately not the first to have a kid. All the girls from my graduating class that have had a kid are not married. Why do babies come first nowadays? I can’t believe im the first to get married honestly.

FH’s Bridesmaid or Best Man and his missus got engaged but she broke it off for reasons unknown. FH and I are the first to get engaged and married. FH’s Bridesmaid or Best Man just informed us a month ago that he re-proposed, and his missus wanted to ‘think about it’ but won’t stop telling people she’s engaged. She did admit to me not long ago she’s jealous and it felt like a competition of sorts… o.o She’s a year younger than I am – I’m 21.

Fiance and I got engaged when I was 18, officially (publicly) when I was 19, and we will be getting married when I’m 20 or 21. He will be 25. I am definitely the first of my friends, since my friends are either my age or younger. I only have a couple friends that are older.

I’m from a small town and it’s not uncommon to get married at a young age here. I was 21 when H and I got engaged, and I was definitely not the first person in my group of friends to do so (I was 22 when we got married). Sadly, though, the majority of the people we know who did get engaged/married before or around the same time we did are already divorced at this point.

@LostInWonderland:  I was 19 when we got engaged (had been together 4 years and I will be 21 at the end of the month) I will be 22 when we get married. He will be 21 in June and will be 21 when we get married (hopefully celebrating his birthday on our honeymoon :))   Close friends- we are the first to get engaged and the first to get married unless there is an unexpected one. Everyone pretty much knew it was going to happen eventually. I think they were nervous that we we still young but when we get married we will have been together for 6 1/2 years.

We are the last couple to get engaged and married! Lol. We waited a lot longer into our relationship to get married than our group of friends too. We have been together 8 or 9 years and just got engaged. Most of our friends were married within 2-4 years.

I’m 23 soon to be 24, and not the first to get engaged or married! Lots of my friends have been in serious relationships for years!

We won’t be the first, but the second. A friend of ours just got married to his wonderful wife in early October. Out of all of our friends, most of whom are the same age as my fiance (he’s 24) or older, we are the second to be engaged, and will more than likely be the second to be married.

There was another engagement in there that would have made us third, but that was broken off, so I didn’t count that.

I am 19 (will be married at 20), my fiance is 20 (will be 21) and the first of my friends to be engaged. I only have one close friend who’s in a longterm relationship and they are not doing too well :/ My FH attended a christian school though and one girl from his grade has already celebrated 1 year married and another got married about a month ago. Two people I know of from my grade who are married but both of them also have had babies.

My engagement wasn’t unexpected to a lot of people as we were together for 3.5 years when we got engaged and our wedding was going to be on our 5 year anniversary but we had to bring it forward a couple weeks so that my brother who lives overseas can come and not miss his exams.

First to get engaged at 23, but some “friends” made it into a competition and got engaged right after we announced it. We wanted a long engagement to get our ducks in a row (get into a career, get a house) and now that we’ve done that, we’ll be married this September. Meanwhile, these “friends” who were in such a rush to win the marriage race are married, unemployed and living with mom and dad.

I’m the first of my immediate high school friends to get engaged. We had an acquaintence who got engaged/married at 22. I was 23 when I got engaged and, if all goes according to plan, I’ll be 28 when I get married.

My best friend is really the only one of this particular friend group that’s even interested in marriage at some point in his life. I could see him beating me to the altar.
