Fiance and I live in a townhouse, with our dog. Not surprisingly, it can get messy pretty quicky. I stumbled upon this cleaning schedule, it seems to be much more than I ever remember my mom doing. Is this similar to your cleaning schedule?
SSorry for the size!

Hahaha! If that said “monthly” then maybe….

I wish I had time to do all that but I do clean a little everyday so that when I clean over the weekend, it does not take me all day.

@Juliepants: ha that’s what I was thinking!

I would say no, I am not that clean haha! I don’t think garbage needs to be taken out every night, to me that seems kinda wasteful if you don’t have a full bag. Other things on the list are the swing days- I don’t do any of those things weekly. Usually daily I’ll wipe down something if it gets dirty but I won’t scrum any kitchen appliance.

Uh nope. We are lucky when all the dishes and laundry are done every day, I have no idea the last time I cleaned a mirror…. Or a window for that matter.

@IowaDDS13: I would say this is pretty close this is to what I do daily… But I think I clean more than most. I dont like to go to bed with some parts of the house messy. I suppose I dont clean the kitchen floor everyday as it depends on if its messy based on what I cooked in there..
I do laundry every day but will typically bunch up the other daily tasks into one day as I like the whole lot to be done at the same time. I dont know why. We dont have kids so I guess if we did my schedule would go out the window 🙂

Yeah right. I clean what’s dirty or messy. Unless this list is for someone who has 7 children, it’s never that urgent of a situation at my house.

No. I wish I liked to clean that much though.

I think that this cleaning schedule but be easier kept by a housewife or househusband but not me who works full time, goes to school part time and has three kids to take care of. And by three kids I mean my two daughtes and my husband. lol

Right now, yes…but only because we’re selling our house and we a) have showings every day so I have to keep it really clean and b) a lot of our stuff is already in storage so cleaning is easy.
Under normal circumstances, I try to at least clean the bathroom and the kitchen once a week, but we always have clutter. Houses are for living in, and living is sometimes messy.

Yes, my cleaning schedule is similar to this. My husband and I live in a 2 story 4 bedroom house with our dog.
Every morning: make breakfast for my husband and myself, make bed, empty dishwasher, straighten up downstairs, wipe down bathroom counters, straighten up bedroom
Every night: make lunches for myself and my husband, cook dinner, wipe down counters/table, load dishwasher, take out garbage if needed (husband does this)
Monday- Dust/windows downstairs, clean moulding/walls downstairs, clean downstairs bathroom
Tuesday- Vacuum upstairs and downstairs and the actual stairs, clean wood floors downstairs
Wednesday- Dust upstairs, clean walls/moulding upstairs and clean master bath and upstairs bathroom
Thursday- Deep clean kitchen including fridge, microwave and oven
Friday- Grocery shop, laundry, dry cleaner drop off and vacuum whole house again and touch up house if company is planned for the weekend
That way theres no cleaning on the weekends and Darling Husband and I can just hang out together. 🙂

If I stayed home, I would do it. Working outside the house, the daily stuff on that list would not get done. I would not be making beds and wiping bathroom counters every morning as I rush to get ready for the day.

My mom followed pretty much that cleaning schedule when my sister and I were growing up and had us do chores to supplement it, but she was a SAHM–now that she works full-time, she and my dad clean the house much less frequently, and since both my fiance and I work full-time I know when we move into the house there won’t be that much cleaning done (weekly, maybe, not not that much daily!!). Actually, my fiance is the one who cleans in our couple: I cook and do the laundry 🙂
