My fiance and I had our engagement pics taken on Sunday and once our “teasers” were posted onto the photographers page and reactions followed, it made me realize more than ever that I really focus on some stupid stuff when it comes to how I view myself in pictures. For instance, there is one photo where I’m wearing a blazer with a plain white tank top underneath and a long pearlish type necklace. Now that I’ve looked at it some more, it is a really good picture but all I could focus on at first was the fact that I could tell that my undershirt was messed up…..yes, the shirt under the shirt that the blazer was over! My head is even turned where my hair is kind of covering the part I can tell is messed up. haha So silly.
This got me wondering….What are things that bother you that probably no one else even notices?!

My one eye is more squinty than the other. So I have to make sure I stand on a certain side of SO or anyone for that matter when I have my picture taken.

Lol, the list is endless
1. My smile is crooked – one side ‘droops’ more than the other, I don’t like it
2. My eyes are differently shaped
3. My nose is a weird shape, I wish I had a big nose
4. My body shape is disproportionate, though that is being changed through weight loss and exercise (no-one agrees with me though)
5. My little fingers on both my hands are crooked – camptodactyly is the official term. I don’t like it
6. My face shape is weird
I don’t think I’m too critical on myself, but others say that I am. Bah.

@Soon2B_MrsS: Oh my, I could write a list!!! I am very critical of myself and if anyone is recovering from this pass on your ideas with just being happy with things how they are!!

@arsing89: I do the same thing! Glad to know I’m not the only one.
And yes, in general, I am my biggest critic. It’s not necessarily a bad thing as long as you’re aware of it and can reign it in as needed.

@OrchidsandCandles: 3. My nose is a weird shape, I wish I had a big nose
I think I have a big nose and want it smaller! Its really round and I always wanted it not as wide and a little pointier. (Picture this: upside down, it has the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head!)

I’m not anymore – I’ve gotten over it as I’ve gotten older. Little things like that in life don’t matter. Life’s too short to focus on them. Be kind to yourself! 🙂

@ohulani: Ah but pointier is not always better! My pointy nose could probably hurt someone if they got too close. 😛

I’m terribly critical of myself!
In no particular order…
1. I get periodic acne, and I can’t stand it. i love beautiful skin!
2.Weight. I’m not ‘fat’, but my thighs touch and I hate that! My tummy isn’t flat and I don’t have a tiny waist. Anger!
3. boobs. Too big!
4. Feet? Too big. Too wide.
5. My ribs are ever so slightly uneven and this drives me SO INSANE.
6. My nose is not what I want it to be. Too much nostril.
7. I like one eye better than the other
8. I’m SHORT!!!

I think my head is too pointy. And with my straight hair if I don’t give it some body I think it looks too narrow up at the top of my skull. If that makes any sense… Basically I’m a conehead.

I could go on for days lol and I’ll spare WB the full list. Slowly and with much stubborn resistance I’m learning to accept that they make me who I am whether I like it or not.
