I really want my brother to play for our wedding, he tried play the CANON d but said it was to difficult to learn in two months…I need something a little more traditional or something he can sing to like a country song or seomthing…I just need a few ideas though.

Try searching for “acoustic guitar solo” on YouTube. That might help to give you some ideas – not every song translates well when played on a single guitar.
We had the guitarist from my husband’s band play “Nothing at All” on a 12-string – it was perfect.

However, the only people I know who play acoustic guitar don’t really have ‘wedding'[appropriate] songs in their repetoire, although it would be hilarious to walk down the aisle to my friends impromtu song “je ne comprends pas” (“I don’t understand” — it is a song about talking to a French girl from Montreal; super fun and fantatic, but the lyrics are not really suitable hahah).

My nephew is playing for our ceremony and my son will join him for one song during the ceremony.
My girls are walking down to the guitar intro to “Love Song” by Tesla – not a typical wedding song but I’m an 80’s rock girl and I absolutely love the song (plus the intro is “dreamy”). We’re hoping to have my nephew play Canon D for me to walk down – I guess I didn’t realize it was that difficult. My nephew and son will be playing, “When You Say Nothing At All” during the ceremony. My son is 13 and has been taking lessons for just over a year and he plays it pretty well. I would think a lot of those country songs would be fairly easy.

I’m walking down to a friend playing So Are You to Me by Eastmountainsouth on the acoustic…
We’ll be having another friend sing but I think he could totally do it himself =)
You can also check on the orignial so you can get an even better feel

Why doesn’t he learn your favorite love song and not even necessarily sing it? That’s what we’re doing. My Fiance is going to record a few guitar solos for songs we love, but not sing them (even though he does have a fabulous voice). It’ll just be guitar when the wedding party and parents walk down the aisle, and the song will switch when I walk down.
Something pretty and simple will be great! I’m sure he’s aware but http://www.ultimate-guitar.com has any song you’d want and how to play it.
Here are the songs we’re thinking we’ll use:
KT Tunstall – Universe and U
Chantal Kreviazuk – Feels Like Home
Tracy Chapman – The Promise
Train – Marry Me
Steel Magnolia – Just By Being You (Halo and Wings) – for when I walk down
Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillait – Lucky – for our exit walk!

@milesbella: Haha! We had him do Tesla’s Love Song too for when people were walking in! Also Def Leppard’s 2 Steps Behind. They do a bunch of 80s/90s rock so it was great for us.

I walked down to an acoustic solo of “Annie’s Song” by John Denver – I dont think it would be that hard for him to learn and its kind of country!

Yes I am, my dad is writing all of the ceremony music. He is an AMAZING acoustic guitar player and I’m thrilled with the song he wrote for me and my FH!

I’m having my cousin play acoustic guitar! I’m not having her sing, though.
She’s going to play ‘Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop’ by Landon Pigg for my girls walking down, and ‘Today’ by Joshua Radin for my processsional.

@milesbella: ya i hope they can play it too.. my brother is in a christian band, and hes been play for 10 years now…so i thuoght it would be easy for him but he said he only plays christian music and hes not used to playing some of the keys that song has in it…he wanted to play it for us but he just doesnt want it to sound bad … he said it would take him 3 or 4 months to learn how to play it perfect so be sure and give them plenty of time to practice! =)

I am having two of my uncles playing accoustic guitars for the whole ceremony.
For my entrance they are doing “A moment like this” – Kelly Clarkson which my sister will be singing me down the aisle to but prior to my sister singing they are doing just the accoustic solo for my bridesmaids to walk down to and then it will progress into my sister singing the song and me walking down.
They will then be doing “Feels like home” – Chantal Kreviazuk for our signing of the register.
Finally for our exit, they will be doing an accoustic version of “Forever and Always” – Shania Twain.
So excited!!! Good luck…there are some really nice choices out there. I just googled and you tubed 🙂
