I’m just curious what people are doing as far as necklaces go!
I’m just curious what people are doing as far as necklaces go!
The top of my gown is very detailed. I decided not to take away from it and just wear a bracelet and earings
I’m thinking no because my dress has a headily beaded boddice and I will be wearing statement earrings + a hair piece, so I’m afraid of overdoing it. That said, I haven’t seen my dress in 8 months so if I decide I need a necklace, I’d probably get something small and delicate so it doesn’t compete with my dress
No necklace for this bride; I have a lace jacket that goes over my gown and I felt that it would be too much and take away from the dress = )
I ended up not wearing a necklace. My dress had detailed lacey straps, I had a veil and a flower in my hair, a sparkly bracelet, and dangly earrings. I felt like a necklace was unnecessary and may have gotten caught on people’s shirts when I was hugging/dancing.
Nope! I have a one shoulder dress, and a necklace didnt look right with it. Ill just be wearing a bracelet, earings and my grandmothers ankle bracelet!
I’m wearing a double strand pearl necklace with mine. Somehow it just makes the whole look (with the birdcage) complete. But my dress is pretty tame – lace and rouching with no beading or sparkle at all.
No necklace. My dress is heavily beaded on the bodice so I felt a necklace would be “too much”
No I went for statement earrings and a bracelet. I love the idea of statement necklaces with dresses that have plain bodices but my dress had detail on the bodice so I skipped the necklace.
First Wedding (circa 1980) … a strand of pearls I inherited from my Maternal Gramma (LOVED that woman, and missed her, she had passed the year before). Went with my pearl stud earrings.
This time round… went with a single pearl drop. It matched my pearl drop earrings.
Pearls are a Wedding Classic… but so are Diamonds… or anything that sparkles… Rhinestones, Swarovski Crystals etc.
Altho there are certainly Brides who opt for more modern Statement pieces.
OR if you have a high neck dress… or one that has a lot of details on the bodice, then a Necklace isn’t always a necessity.
Hope this helps,
