    I have an all lace dress and my wedding is in August, needless to say, no stockings for me. I did get lucky because my dress has a corset back, which, while Im not a super fan of corsets, its squeezes all the right areas to give me the curvy look I love and control problem spots. I have my first fitting nxt week, so I’ll decide if I’ll need spanx. Argh! I hope not ๐Ÿ™‚

    I have an all lace super-fitted mermaid- no stockings for me! I have to find undies that don’t give any panty lines, or I guess some people don’t wear any? Maybe that would be weird…

    Well, I wasn’t going to wear stockings but then I thought What the heck, and got some nude fishnets.  ๐Ÿ™‚

    I have a short dress so I’ll probably wear a prettier pair of nude with some shimmer- I assume as much at least. I actually don’t mind hose I think if done right it can be glamourous.

    I wore 1950s-style nylon fully-fashioned “Manhattan” heeled stockings under my dress held up by a 14-strap garter belt. My husband certainly appreciated it.

    @SpecialSundae:

    I don’t know how to pull off a garter but I may try- i think it’d be fun to have under there since the dress is so aline and that’d be unexpected. Also, I like hose since the dress is late 50s early 60s.

    here is my dress.

    @PugsandUnicorns: I’d go with very sheer RHTs with that dress (proper 1960s stockings) and a belt with short straps. I’ve pulled of stockings and suspenders in a shorter skirt at work!

    By the way, I love your dress!

    @PugsandUnicorns:  Like those. Gios are a British brand and are my favourite but I know Hanes are hugely popular with other retro girls. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I hardly ever wear tights/stocking/pantyhose, I despise them, my legs need to be free! I had a winter wedding, wore open toed shoes, and STILL didn’t wear stockings lol. I did wear Spanx (from under bra to thighs). I didn’t have to pee all night though. I basically didn’t feel a thing until the second the wedding was over and suddenly my feet hurt like hell and I needed to pee like a racehorse, it’s amazing how little you feel when you’re gloriously happy ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ps: Even with a VERY light dress (seriously, every single seamstress, consultant, etc, commented over and over how light it was), no stockings, strapless dress, and in the middle of winter, I was SWEATING by the end of the night from dancing and laughing so much! Definitely wouldn’t add extra layers!
