I think brides get a pass on the no white after labor day rule.

Does anyone still follow the no white after Labor Day rule? Maybe it is because I live in San Diego, where it is practically 72 degrees year round, but everyone wears white all year long,

I will be wearing ivory, but my wedding is in June.

This is so interesting to me! I see everywhere that brides (have to?) wear a little white dress for their rehearsal dinner, but I personally feel like it will somehow take away the ‘awe’ factor of seeing me in white the next day… so i will be wearing this dress:

That being said, I totally think it’s ok for you to wear white after labor day, as the PP stated!

I wore a champagne colored dress (March) – and no one said a word about the Labor Day rule..

I say, go for it!  I’m wearing royal blue, which happens to be the color of our Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses.  Would have loved to wear white/blush/ivory if I found the right dress.

I think the no white after labor day rule is outdated personally.  I have a beautiful off white coat that I wear in the winter.  If you are worried about it though, you could go more ivory or cream.  I’m actually wearing a yellow dress to my rehearsal dinner in a few weeks.  Yellow is one of my wedding colors and it just feels springy to me.  Wear whatever makes you happy 🙂

Nope. I don’t see the point or the need for “rehersal dresses”. I’ll probably be wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

yes, in fact I just bought it today! Interestingly none of my dresses are bright white. The rehearsal dress is “snow white” (whatever that means), the bridal gown is ivory and the at-home reception dress is “light champagne”

I haven’t bought my dress yet, but it’s going to be blush. I absolutely love that color and wanted to wear something in that color for the rehearsal.

@Hyperventilate:  The point for me is that we are having a dinner at a nice restaurant afterwards and i also love dressing up 🙂
