I have read and heard that some new brides do NOT wear their engagement and wedding rings (or not their real ones) on their honeymoon so they are not stolen and that some thieves target honeymooners for this reason.
Are any of you leaving your rings at home when you go on your honeymoon?

I’m leaving mine at home when I’m on honeymoon but I have fairly convincing fakes to wear while I’m away. A lot of insurance doesn’t cover you overseas or charges you a lot more if you are covered.

If we were traveling internationally I might consider leaving them at home but we are going to Hawaii, so I don’t think that it’s going to be an issue … So, I’m definitely wearing them the whole time and hopefully we will get some newlywed perks! 🙂

@Miss Marine: I’ll still be wearing a very similar set, just in much cheaper materials (silver and CZ rather than platinum and diamond).

I’m most likely leaving mine at home.

We went to Portugal and we both wore ours. If we went to the beach or the pool we just put them in the safe in the hotel room. It seemed just as likely to me that we could lose them or have them stolen in the US, so why worry about it.

I’m only going to wear my wedding band, and not my engagement ring there… I’d rather be safe than sorry.

I wore my rings when we were eating and that kind of thing. When we were at the beach, pool and sightseeing I wore a stand-in tungsten band.

We wore our rings on our honeymoon. When at the beach or pool, I bought a cute ring from the gift shop to wear during these times.

I fully intend on bringing mine, wherever we end up for our honeymoon. Although I have been looking for a similar stunt ring that can be worn in the pool/on the beach.

We wore ours and we also always wear them when we travel. It really isn’t a big deal and there isn’t anything to be concerned about.
