I kept mine on for about half to 3/4 of the reception. Wanted to have it on for all the important pics(cake cutting, first dance, etc)
I have a three tier veil. The cathedral one is separate (detachable) and I’ll just have the the two shorter tiers on during the reception. I love veils, so I don’t think you’re crazy. They look lovely on.
I took mine off before the reception. I had a cathedral veil and actually only wore mine for the ceremony. We put it on right before the ceremony and took it off right after. Wouldnt have wanted to wear any kind of veil for the reception.
@McBezel: Our whole wedding is going to be around 13 hours, so, I’m wearing my (cathedral length) please veil for the ceremony and some photos, then slipping in a glitzy comb/hair-piece for the rest of the day. If you like the idea of wearing a veil throughout, which I xan totally understand, I think it makes sense to switch to an elbow-length veil after the ceremony 🙂
I’m personally going to take it off…but I think leaving it on is just fine.
I was going to say you were crazy at first because I read it wrong. I thought you wanted to leave the cathedral veil on….I was like uh oh how is she going to dance ha.
My veil was a kinda heavy, so I took it off right after the ceremony. If your second veil is light wont bug you then I say go for it.
I took my two tiered veil off right after the reception before the receiving line. I didn’t want people tugging on it all night.
I have three pieces. My cathedral veil will be on until after my important pics are done. After that all pieces will be coming off!!!
Mine is cathedral length so I’ll only wear it for the ceremony and some pictures.
I wore mine until the evening, when I changed dresses.
Same as what a lot of ladies are saying….My veil (and train) is cathedral length and my mothers, so I would DIE if something happened to it. So I plan on only wearing it for the ceremony and pictures at the church.
Is anyone wearing their cathedral veil for on location pics?
I am going to bustle my cathedral veil after the ceremony and wear it for as long as it works out.
