@McBezel:  Love it! I love, love veils too! I probably dreamed more about the veil than the dress when I was younger. I blame that on my first communion though haha! And I probably agonized over the veil more than I did chosing a dress – so many options and so many beautiful (and expensive!) veils out there! I just want to wear them all!

I don’t think you’re crazy at all. I heard cathedral length veils get bustled. It’s a peeve of mine when the bride takes off her veil.

I tried to wear my veil for as long as possible during the reception…but people kept hugging me (and as the night wore on, bumping into me, lol) and I had to take it off…was starting to ruin my hair.

I had no idea brides wore veils during the reception, I might have done that if I knew.

huh. I never even heard of keeping the veil on after the ceremony. I don’t think I will, but it’s definitely interesting

I’m thinking of shortening my Chapel length veil and wearing it through both ceremony and reception though I’ve always wanted a Cathedral length veil and am working with someone to make one that I’ll wear through the ceremony and then change into shortened one for reception.

I’m wearing a fingertip length mantilla veil. I LOVE it–I mean, how often do you get to wear a VEIL? I want to take full advantage of the opportunity.

BUT, I think I want to take off my veil after the cake cutting, when the REAL dancing starts. We shall see.

@McBezel:  No, you aren’t crazy – it’s your day and you can do what you like! But of course, there is the matter of practicality. I’ve read of some brides who wore their veils during their reception and had some issues with guests untinentionally pulling it down or even completely out when giving the bride a well-meaning hug… So if it looks like you’ll be getting a lot of hugs at your wedding you might want to give that some thought 🙂
