Fiance and I met at freshman orientation. He tried to kiss me during orientation, but I was still dating my high school boyfriend. By some magic, we then ended up living right next door to each other in our freshman dorm. We became best friends, and a few months later, we started dating. That was almost 6 years ago!

@ksn1219:  Hate week is HILARIOUS in my house, especially considering that my family and my Future In-Laws are big Georgia fans, too. I actually got something sneakily UGA themed for our wedding, but he won’t know about it until the day.

Oddly, my husband and I went to the same high school but never knew each other, we both went to different colleges as well.

We met in high school, but I started off college in a small community college. When it came time to transfer I purposefully chose a different college than his because I didn’t want to seem like I was following him. Now I kind of wish we would have gone to the same school because we are living near my school at the moment, and his school is in a much cheaper COL area!

SO and I go to the same college, I am a senior and he is a graduate student. We met here my freshman year. We’ve never had the same classes since I am studying psychology whereas he is studying mechanical engineering. I love going to the same school as him; we have our own apartments but we sleep together every night (alternating places) and often grab lunch together on campus. A lot of college couples I know don’t spend nearly that much time together (most of my friends with significant others only have “sleepovers” a few days a week), but we love being able to spend so much time together. But since we do technically live separately, we still get to spend plenty of time with other friends. As for focusing on classes, it’s great for me because whenever I’m studying for an exam I have someone to test me on the material because he can’t say no 🙂

My SO and I met his Junior year and my Freshman year at a university that was a very much a university town. My friend group doubled when we started dating, I couldn’t imagine what uni would have been like without him. His friends were great, their girlfriends became my good friends, my friends became his friends. I guess we just got really lucky because everything worked out well.

School wise, he was doing a very difficult program and his dedication to school work forced me to work harder. He would insist on staying at the library all night, and if I wanted to see him, I spent all night there too which eventually lead to studying, hahah.

chronicwhimsy:  That is so cool you got to take classes together! Built in study buddy 😉

SO and I have been best friends since we were thirteen and officially together since our Junior year of high school. He actually followed me (his own admission lol) to our current college where we’re now Juniors once more. We have taken a couple of classes together in the past, but this semester is the first where he and I have actually had more than one and spend all day together M/W/F rather than just the evenings/nights.

It’s been pretty awesome so far and while we’ve always had the same circle of friends, our connections have only expanded now that we both are branching out and bringing new people into our lives. I think the biggest plus is that when my mental illness causes me to have episodes, he’s there to help me work through them so I don’t have to cope alone.

My boyfriend and I live together and go to the same university. We’re completely different majors though so we never have classes together. We actually don’t really see eachother during the day…. the most time we see eachother during the day is maybe a 30 minute lunch a few times a week, and at night times. Even the weekends are mostly taken up by studying and homework.

We went to the same law school but we met at work – he’s 4 years older so he was ahead and I never got to meet him while still studying. It’s a shame really, I could have avoided kissing quite a few frogs had I met my prince sooner!

He graduated long before me. It would have been nice to share the uni experience though. I never really gained many friends while I was there, so having him would have meant a great deal. Would have been nice to have a buddy for all the events!

Nope, we didn’t go to the same college at all. Darling Husband and I met when I was in college, but kind of through his Dad who was a professor in my area of study. Funny story–DH now works there (in that field)–13 years later.

Mircat:  We met in university, so yeah we went there together! He was an exchange student from Europe and due to leave Canada at the end of the year. We had 8 months of fun and dating and just being together before he left. He went home for 5 months but arranged to continue school here and live here permanently. It was so great to be able to go to school with him, especially after I thought I would probably never see him again!

I actually met my Fiance about a month into my freshman, his junior, year. It was so nice to hang out with him in between classes and share weekends together.  He was part of a TV group so it was really cool to actually be able to watch his shows! He graduated a semester early in December of 2012, and got a full-time job about 100 miles away. It was definitely hard to adjust to now only seeing him two weekends out of the month but I do think it came at the right time. Classes are harder and I also work quite a bit so I don’t feel as guilty focusing on other things!
