I’m writing a sci fi adventure novel. I’ve had the idea for years, and I’ve finally taken the time to outline and start writing. I have 42,000 words (176 pages), and I feel stuck. I have my outline, so it’s not writer’s block. I know where the plot is going. I just feel like I’m going to spend 2 months writing a first draft, and it’s going to be bad. It’s such a time-consuming, daunting task that I feel overwhelmed I guess. I keep telling myself that I can really polish/change things when I edit. You can’t fix what you don’t write, right? But I’m still feeling so discouraged.
Anyone have any advice to get through these kind of days and keep at it? Any reassurances about crappy first drafts? haha.
