Your cousin is being very rude. She has no manners and I wouldn’t allow her to pick out her own dress. She’s not that special on your wedding day, haha.

I picked for my bridesmaids but I also paid for them and my mom made them, so even though i got a few “oh no i have to tan!” regarding the color (champagne pink), they were all grateful and nice about wearing them.

I had originally wanted all the girls to wear the same dress, but knew due to body types it would be difficult to find one make them all feel beautiful.

After several trips we found one dress that they all loved, and ended up ordering that.  So, in the end, they will all have the same gown ๐Ÿ™‚

My have two rules: must be charcoal/dark gray and must be knee length or shorter. Other than that, I want my girls to look like their beautiful SELVES! ๐Ÿ™‚

i am going to pick out 5 or 6 dresses and shoes that i like i think will work for them. (different necklines and fabrics)

but they are all black and for the most part the same length. (MOH will be in a long dress though) They can choose their favorite.

i’m sorry to hear your cousin is being so unreasonable! ๐Ÿ™

my bridesmaids are all wearing a specific type of dress from j crew, probably in the spiced wine. they are all over the country, and have all different body types, so this will work the best for us. i want them to be comfortable, look hot, and not hate me. its funny because all of them were like ‘we will do whatever you want!”, and i just wanted their honest opinion.

i totally think your cousin is being rude. that’s really not cool, and you should say something to her.

Your cousin is being extremely rude! She should have stayed within the dress picks that you choose. This isn’t her day…

I only have one bridesmaid, so there’s no one for her to match ๐Ÿ˜‰

But basically I told her that is needed to be chocolate brown and knee or tea length, and beyond that she could do whatever she wanted.  She picked a really nice garden type dress.

But yeah, your cousin was really rude.  BMs need to stay within the parameters the bride gives them, no matter what those are.  So if you said “wear this dress” or “wear one of these three dresses” then she was totally out of line to do something else.

Rudeness of cousin for sure! I originally wanted different dress with same color and fabric, but the Fiance liked the idea of cohesiveness so I went to the bridal store with my Maid/Matron of Honor and let her pick out a few options she liked then passed on the verdict to the other Bridesmaid or Best Man and let them try on those same dresses and report back what they liked.

My girls chose their own dresses.  I gave them a couple of stipulations–they were all from JCrew, black and in a shorter length.  I believe they had a couple of different fabrics and each chose a different style.  I think they looked really cool and were able to get dresses that worked for their figures.  Personally, I preferred that to a matchy-matchy look, but to each her own!

It’s just my two sisters, and they are wearing different dresses, same colour but different shade and different fabric.  I told them I wanted green and short, they could match if they liked the same dress and if not then they could wear different.  They both liked the same two dresses but each felt more comfortable in one over the other, so they are wearing different!
