I’m 27 and only one of my other friends is married. She lives 3+ hours away from me, so I don’t get to see her as often as I used to. Why do you get lonely? I’ve found that nothing changed in that regard when I got married.

msmorganitebee:  I’m 27, my best friend was married at 24 and my other at 25. All of our friends are married, my sister who is a year younger isn’t yet. My SO’s sisters are almost 27 and they aren’t married yet either. It’s crazy when I think about everyones marital status. I don’t know when it changed but it was like a wave and BAM everyones paired off haha.

A mixture. Most of my friends are either married or in serious relationships but the four friends I would say I am closest to are either single (3 of them) or in a new relationship. I am 28.

I’m 28, and all of my close friends (and by close I’m referring to the ones I hang out with and see on a regular basis) are married.  I was the last to get married in October.

While many of my facebook friends are married, none of my close friends (that I still talk to outside of social media) are married. I’ve never been invited to a wedding, granted, I don’t have a huge amount of friends, since I’ve moved around a lot and lost touch with people.

Many of the people that I was friends with in my small town high school are married (if they stayed local), but I don’t talk to many of them anymore. I’m now in graduate school, where people tend to get married later, so at 26, I’m still “young” getting married. Most of FI’s friends aren’t married either (he’s 31, though many of his friends are a bit younger).

I don’t understand. What does your friends relationship status have to do with your friendships?

I know a few people married, but no one in my close circle of friends. I have one friend who wants to be married so bad. If she’s not careful she’ll end up scaring her boyfriend away!

None of my friends are married or in relationships. A lot of people from my graduating classes are engaged, but none of them are my close friends. Out of my best friends, I’m the only one even in a relationship, nevermind headed for engagement.

I have a lot of friends who are married, but my 3 best friends are all single. It doesn’t make me feel lonely – we have plenty to share and talk about that doesn’t require being married!

I’m 31 and we have a mix. My best friend is 31, and she got married this past July. Another best friend (30) is single. Another girl in our group (29) is engaged (and has been for 2 years). We hit all the marks!

We have our friends from high school/college, only a couple are married, all are in serious relationships/engaged but one. Then we have our “married friends” which I can’t even remember when we all became friends but they are all married, most with kids or kids on the way. We are all 21-24.
