No, my wedding colors are NOT my favorite colors. Qiute the opposite really. I love purple and teal. My wedding colors are dark red, gold, champagne, and ivory. The venue already has a lot of those colors in it so I decided not to fight it. I mean, I like the colors for my wedding but they are not my favorite colors. Also, my wedding is in September so I thought those colors would go nicely with the time of year.

My favourite colour is very transient, but I’d say eggplant purple stays among the top fairly frequently.  Woudln’t really have suited a July day time wedding, nor did it match with DH’s dress uniform, so I went with chartruese/grey, which I thought would look nice, and is NOW one of my favourite colours, just because it reminds me of our wedding!

When we got married, I chose pink which is my favorite color.  DH didn’t care as long as he didn’t have to wear anything pink. I decided on the color long before we had set our wedding date. Then when we set our date, I was worried about the color I chose, because we were getting married December 1st, and pink isn’t really considered a winter color, but it worked out perfectly. For some reason, because I am so identified by the color pink, it just worked and didn’t look out of place at all for a winter wedding.

So…long story short… yes, we went with my favorite color even though seasonally, there were a lot of other color choices.

@SpoiledPrincess2012:

I just picked my favourite colours too. I think most people use one favourite colour and then add another complimentary colour. For me, season and theme really didn’t come into it. However, if my Fiance decided that he didn’t like the colours, then I would have explored other colour options…

I love plum and emerald green which would have been quite nice for a fall wedding, but I wanted the wedding to be about us and not just about me. We went with powder blue and brown because we both loved the color scheme so much. It is blatantly obvious when you go to a wedding where the groom had no say in anything, IMO.

My wedding color (fuchsia) is inspired by my FI’s favorite color on a girl.. pink. Baha! My favorite colors are 1) brown and 2) green. I always imagined ussing brown, but I’m getting married in the summer, and suddenly that just seemed too dull. If I needed an accent color (which I don’t) it would be brown. I thought about doing green, but went to a wedding last year with green and didn’t care for it… or maybe I just wanted to be different? Anyway, I went with the pink theme and got the brightest color pinks imaginable! 🙂

Now I find myself drawn to these hot pink/fuchsia colors! It’s not my favorite color, but I notice it more now that it’s my wedding color!

Most people pick their favorite colors (a compromise between each of you) but you can do whatever you want.

My favourite colour is pink, and has been my entire life.  Fiance was willing to have it as one of our colours, but was adamant that he was not going to be wearing pink (although I’ve managed to talk him into a pink corsage!).  I completely understand his point of view, and want him to be happy too.  I would have loved to accomodate him even more by having his favourite colour as our other colour, but it’s a bright crimson red, which does NOT go with pink in any way, so we settled on charcoal grey as our main colour, with a light pink as an accent.  After picking the grey, we realized how much we actually already like it as a colour – it’s the colour of our duvet cover, my car and numerous other things in our house!

@SpoiledPrincess2012: Yeah definitely. My favourite colour is red but felt in June it would be too heavy, so teamed it with aqua (Tiffany blue) and made aqua the main colour

I don’t really have a favorite color….. instead, I have color preferences that fluctuate based on the time of year, what the context is (fashion, home decor, etc).

Truth be told, when I started leaning towards shades of peach/coral/salmon for bridesmaids dresses, I was sort of surprised… I had been thinking a shade of dusty seafoam in my head forever.

All I knew, through the whole planning process, was that blue Ball jars were going to be used for vases, and that everything else had to coordinate.

But this green-y blue never really showed up in bridesmaids dresses, and I finally decided that I *really* wanted Peach Juliet roses in my bouquet, and thus my peach/salmon/coral/aqua/teal/yellow scheme was born.

And now the color is *everywhere*, and I’m finding myself drawn towards it in my own wardrobe at the moment- there is a skirt in that color from J.Crew that is calling my name!

But, would I say these were my “favorite” colors? Maybe right now, but certainly not forever.

Generally, no. I tend to gravitate towards jewel tones like purples and teals. But we are having a black tie, summer wedding so I wanted something really formal, elegant, and timeless. All of the flowers are white, cream, and blush and we’re using lots of subtle, shimmery metallics like a rose gold linen, dupioni ivory napkins, silver chavari chairs. The accent color, which is the color of the bridesmaid dresses, the cake, the designs on the printed materials, and the ribbon on the cookie favors is the only official color in the wedding; it’s a dusty aqua color. I don’t really think of it as a favorite color, but in retrospect I actually have some of that color in my home (our bedding, throw pillows on our couch).

We chose royal purple and deep red. Purple is my favorite color, and we love the color red, even painted a few walls in red in our new house, and refelted our pool table in red and bought a red umbrella for our outside table so Fiance asked if we could do red in the wedding since we like it so much. Most people are not a fan of the red and purple together, but I figure, they are the colors of royalty so….lol 🙂
