Having a ring doesn't matter as long as he proposes

No, I'm so excited to get engaged whatever he got I'm sure I'll love

No, as long as it cost a lot

A little bit. I like certain ring styles.

Yes, I told him what I like and hope that's what I get

Yes but I'll let him have input

Yes, I want to design my ring and have it exactly how I want it

    Other: Explain below.

He knew I liked side stones and that I liked round, but that I wasn’t picky about the appearance…

That being said, our ring discussion was about how I believed in the three months’ salary rule. We ended up negotiating to three months’ salary after 401k contributions, taxes, and insurance.

After setting a general price bracket (9K-11K), he picked it out by himself and surprised me with it! I didn’t even know he’d bought a ring!

We picked out the diamond together. I ultimately paid for my diamond and Fiance paid for the setting. I selected two settings I liked and left it up to Fiance — he chose the one I loved more and all was perfect. So yes, I was picky, but it worked for us.

I’m a tad picky, but wanted him to be able to choose it. I showed him lots of pictures, and told him to pick what he wanted to from there!

He’s having it made, and has run every drawing/decision by me first! Bless his heart. He wants it to be exactly what i want, but it certainly won’t be a surprise now!

I would have voted, ” It doesn’t matter, ” in the past, but now that we are actually shopping for rings, I would have to say I have some preferences.

I didn’t know much about 4cs, various cuts, settings etc before getting engaged, and I didn’t have any set idea what I wanted. When Fiance was fishing for information prior to getting engaged I told him that I wanted something “simple but different” which drove him absolutely mad. I had no other input other than that, but I think he got it spot on. But even if I’d gotten something different I’m sure i’d still love it because it came from him.

Fiance and I both agreed that having somehing we would both love for a very long time would be the best. I would have been ok with any ring, but this way felt us both feel better. Also he was clueless about rings before I provided input πŸ™‚

@ChelsBea:  Oh my! You are so low maintenance! Fiance & I were together for 5 1/2 years before he said “I want to get engaged, would you pick out your ring with me”…and he told me this in October and said we’d be going shopping in March. That left me with about 5-6 months to FLIP OUT and look at nothing but e-rings. I knew I wanted a rectangular cushion cut, more than 1ct. After researching, I decided it had to be G-H/VS2, I was on the fence about an “eye clean” Si1. I also knew I wanted it to be similar to the Tiffany Novo style. When we went looking, Fiance hated the H color cushion so we went with a G, VS2. It was 1.11ct, so it met all my criteria and was breathtaking. I was super specific with the setting…there were just certain details that to me, made it totally wrong. But, I’m picky about every little thing. Here she is!

i am involved in the ring shopping (and the non stop online ring browsing!) with the intention that I get to say what I want… BUT i CANNOT DECIDE! we bought a center stone, now as soon as i decide what I want it gets set and our engagement is set! πŸ˜‰ now i’m ready to strap that thing on w tin foil. hahahaha. but at the same time the thought of wearing a piece of jewelry daily for life is daunting and I really want to love it, for it to be ‘me’, and unique, and timeless, and match my styles/clothes. so yeah i’m making it too hard!

I inherited a ring from my grandmother that I was told I could have when I got engaged, so I would have been pretty sad if he’d picked out another one when we already had a free heirloom ring that I was in love with.
