OK, I’m not superstitious at all, but this is getting slightly ridiculous. It’s been one thing after another for the last 2 months. It’s getting ridiculous.
First, in Nov. DH’s car threw a timing belt and we had to replace the timing belt, cam shaft, water pump, head gasket and spark plugs (for non-car bees, we essentially had to overhaul the engine). The repair garage had it for a MONTH to do a week long job (long story) and we wound up paying well over $1,700 to get the repairs done.
Right before we were FINALLY supposed to get DH’s car back, the wheel bearing on my car went, taking the brand new brake rotor with it and we wound up stranded in the middle of a snow and ice storm. Paid $350 to repair that and were told the other side is bad too and will also need the rotor/bearing replaced. Lovely. So, we’ve had to use my car only for shorter trips, and use DH’s for everything else and mine is the one with the good gas mileage.
Yesterday, I was driving my car and the radiator went out with a 6″ crack in it and antifreeze all over the engine. That will be another $220 to repair. So, we’ve spent $2,300 in car repairs in 6 weeks.
On top of all that, I got to work after lunch this afternoon and the spreadsheet that I’ve been working on since October is half gone! I’m in charge of collecting all of the money for a missions trip in March thru our jobs and have been collecting funds since October. I lost all of the dates people paid, how much they paid when and whether it was cash or check…for 37 people!!! This is ridiculous! Only the information I put in on Sunday/Monday is still here, everything else is gone! Why in the world would Excel delete the old info and not the new that I could easily reenter?! Ugh!
Two Mondays in one week is too many. Does anyone else need a ranting post today? Feel free to share your rants!
