Curious as to what your vows were like! I’m a hopeless romantic… at weddings, I love the watching the expressions of the couple as they say their vows.
Ours will be pretty traditional in sentiment, but the wording is more modern. I think if I was to read highly personal vows I would be even more of a bawling mess at the ceremony… I’ll be putting those in a letter for the groom to read before or after the wedding.

very traditional. i think i even promised to obey although i deny all knowledge to my husband! the minister didnt speak to us about vows before we married and writing our own was something we never thought of/wanted to do

obey? I don’t think my Fiance would ever forget if I said that!
FI’s dad is officiating, and was looking for input and making sure we liked the service, which was really nice.

I think I will go traditional. I am absolutely terrified to write my own vows!

Ours were traditional, but we’re Jewish so they were also in Hebrew. They weren’t personalized, but I liked being connected to an old tradition!
I think I would be nervous to read vows I wrote myself…I’m sure I would have cried! I think it can be really beautiful, but we went to a friend’s wedding where the groom gave the most overblown self-written vows–I would be afraid of mine veering that way
