Just getting this out of my system…. I do not like the Murphy who came up with Murphy’s law!
Since school started in June, I have been there every morning that school was open to do the screening, even when I did not need to be at school for the rest of that day – for those days, I would go in between 6:15 – 6:30, do the screening, then go home at 7:30. Other days that I needed to be at school for the rest of the day, I would stay and then leave at 11:30 or 14:30 depending on the schedule.
I have not missed one morning – and today was a day where I was scheduled to do something with what we call a “ghost class” where we were scheduled for a class that did not exist – so I did not need to be at school. And I was not put on break duty, so I just had to go in at 6AM, and do the screening. I left at 8AM to go and run some errands (including picking up my degree certificate yay!) and went to the shops (oh the joys of going to to the shops in the morning – it is sooooo quiet then).
Lo and behold, I get a call at break time from the deputy principal (a different one – not the one with the inappropriate jokes) asking if I was on break duty, and that she wanted the registers of who was at school. If I was at school – this would have been easy, but I was in the middle of shopping. That was an awkward conversation….To top it off, I did not use my own devices to sign people in, I borrowed someone else’s computer which was still logged under her name. (The ONE DAY I did not bring my laptop, my reliable tablet decided to throw a tantrum and not co-operate).
The ONE DAY I decided to leave early – it’s not like I even shirked my duty – I get a call from the deputy principal Argh!
