I understand that feeling! At the last school I taught at, teachers were required to get to work by 8am, and school started at 9. I got there on time every morning, but it didn’t matter because there was no sign in sheet or any other way teacher timeliness was tracked. One morning I wasn’t feeling too great and slept in a little by mistake, and I got to school around 15 minutes late. Guess who was waiting by my door that morning, because he had some paperwork he needed me to sign? The principal. He had never seen me come in on time or early, but he was there that one day to see me come in late! I feel your pain! 😀

i wouldnt call it murphy’s law but when i was at my previous job, i had an hour commute.  i was always early.  but one day, i couldn’t get up and was running late.  when i got near work, i decided i needed gas and i might as well get it now instead of afterwork. walking out of the stairwell onto my floor, i cross paths with my boss’s boss who was also just walking into the office. i was maybe 15 minutes late at most.

10 minutes later, i’m being called into my boss’s office.  “is there any reason why you can’t be on time.”

i started to state that x co-worker is 10 minutes late every single day.  but i cut myself off and simply stated, no there is no reason.  this was my first time being late, it will not happen again.

thankfully i had something in the works,  and gave my notice 2 weeks later.
