Are you on antibiotics?  That’s what will help best.  But otherwise, soup and ice cream (not together!) will help

@MariaW:  That’s strange.  Most doctors prescribe them right away because the sooner you get on the better.  It takes 2-3 days for the soreness to really go away, and you take them twice a day for 10 days (regardless if the symptoms go away or not).

@MariaW:  Good luck, and feel better soon!  Have some good yummy soup and try not to talk too much!   Advil, like you’re taking, will reduce the swelling in your lymph nodes!

Aww I feel for you.  I had glandular fever in school and up until last year (almost 7 years later) I got recurrant throat infections.  Lots of fluids, lots of pain relief & some antibacterial throat lozenges (or a recent discovery which I found works better, throat spray) to numb your throat.  I’d also get back to your GP if you’re still not feeling any better tomorrow!
