I think I spend way too much. A trip to target to buy make up remover can end up being over $100 in all “fun stuff.” Then all the online deals, shopping with friends now and then and just simply going shopping out of boredom or retail therapy. Every month is different but lately I think I’ve averaged $500 (ouch) within the last couple of months. That’s insane.
How do you fight the urge? If you don’t have the urge, I envy you 😉

I have the urge but not the funds, so that helps a lot 😛 . I usually spend around $50 a month or so, sometimes more if I genuinely need some things.

It depends on the season. Right now we have the post holiday winter sales so I just spent $160 on business clothes and a new (and much needed) wool coat. Without the sale the retail price would have been about $650. Next few months I shouldn’t need anything. When the post summer sales hit I invest again.

I’ve been really good lately – I’d say roughly $75 to $150 a month.
I used to spend around $600 a month but I’m really trying to save money so if I need something I’ll try and get it on sale.

I’ve stopped buying clothing (my only clothing/ accessory purchase in the last few months was a tote). For some reason no matter how much clothing I have I typically just wear a few outfits anyway. Or I buy a bunch of stuff that looks like other stuff I already own. I’ve given up on being cute and fashionable at this point.

Over the course of the year, I spend about $150 in total. I just buy items on sale or when I need them.

Wow! All of you inspire me to really reconsider my spending 🙂

About $400 or so a month on average. You aren’t alone OP!

$0 the last few months. I’m on a very tight budget and I don’t need new clothes or accessories so I’m not buying them. But normally throughout my adult life, probably $50. And gosh, I know I’ve had my fair share of Target trips that got way out of hand way too fast lol! You aren’t alone there. I’m not shopping at Target right now for that reason.

Most months, nothing. I live in scrubs at work and yoga pants and jeans and t-shits outside of work. When the seasons change and i need a couple new things… i spend a couple hundreds here and there but that’s a couple times a year only. I’m not a fashionista. My total clothing spending a year is under 1k for sure. Some years under $500.

About $50… I always think of all the hideous crap I donate to goodwill all the time. that keeps me from buying new things 🙂

Last year, I spent anywhere from $300-1200 / month on clothes, jewelry, shoes, accessories and makeup.
December was expensive – $800 in look-related spend.
A 2016 resolution is to shop from my closet. So far, I have only spent money on food and drink.
I’m staying motivated by eyeing real estate in our neighborhood.
That and Le Tote and Rent the Runway unlimited. Darling Husband is good with the spend as it’s approx. $200 / month and requires less closet space and eliminates dry cleaning bills. So effective cost is more like $100-150 / month (since I can apply my dry cleaning budget to clothes rental)

I spend about 400 a month on “fun stuff” – but that includes my monthly facial which is $100, I dont know if that counts. I also include $200 in my budget a month to go out to eat, so on months that I am really good about not going out to eat, I will spend up to 600 on clothes/makeup/bags/jewely etc… I think on average though I spend around $300-400.

Probably $40 a month or less to be honest. Last year I think I bought 2 pairs of jeans, 2 nice jackets that I’d been looking for for several years and a new handbag. Plus a couple of second-hand tops.
I really don’t buy much, I don’t need fancy work clothes and I’m happy to wear things repeatedly. Definitely not a fashionista but still have a lot of clothes in my wardrobe. One of my aims for this year is to buy no new clothes. I don’t need them so anything I want will have to be second-hand.

How much do I spend? too much.
I’m with you, OP. I probably spend $400-$500/month on clothes/accessories/makeup. It’s been a long time trying to bring that number down, but as of yet, my efforts have been fruitless haha.
