We’re very interested in doing this too! We’ve checked out a few, here are the ones we’ve seen:

Long Beach Museum of Art

MOLAA in Long Beach

Skirball Center

7-Degrees

We haven’t checked out the Pasadena Museum of California Art because it wouldn’t fit our guest count (200) but I believe it will fit yours!

Hope this helps!

I’m getting married at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego right on the water in La Jolla, CA. I think someone else recently started a thread about art museum weddings, there might be more info if you don’t get what you need here :). Feel free to PM me if you are curious about my venue. My cousin was on the event staff for 6 years, my uncle installed art there for 20, so I have been going there my whole likfe :_). LOVE that place!

I’ve been to one and it was lovely. The cocktail hour was in a special exhibit space and the dinner was in the main hall of the museum. Good luck finding your venue!

The Autry Museum of Western Heritage in LA (near Glendale) does weddings.

Another cool site is Heritage Square Museum off the 110 towards Pasadena. You have to have the wedding outside, but you can hire docents for a nominal fee to lead people through the historic houses.

Have you thought about doing it at an aquarium? My Maid/Matron of Honor is having her wedding at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. It’s beautiful and overlooks the ocean.

We were looking at doing it on the rooftop of the Pasadena Museum of California Art.  It’s a super cool rooftop space that also has an indoor loft-like space.  There is a view of the Pasadena City Hall as well.  They are pretty flexible with their policies, but we decided not to use them because we wanted to have more trees.  You should definitely check it out.

I am sure one of the new bloggers, Ms. Hippo, is doing hers in an art museum. I think it’s just the ceremony though. But you can check out her posts.
