I’ve been to Aruba once with my Fiance and his grandparents.  It was their timeshare, so I have no clue about booking, but we definitely had a great time!  We stayed at La Cabana, which isn’t an ideal honeymoon resort, but it was great for a family trip.

There’s tons to do while you’re there.  You can do all sorts of water sports and excursions.  We rode jetskis (which i had never done before) and we went on a dinner/booze cruise, which I highly recommend.  We had a great time!

There was plenty of shopping and dining, there are a few casinos throughout the island, and theres even a movie theater.  It’s really easy to learn your way around too, which is nice.  We took a taxi back to our resort from a casino one night and felt completely safe.

We’re going back for our honeymoon but we’re unsure of where we’re staying.  If I were to recommend a general area on the island for you to stay it’d be close to the major hotels (Marriot, Radisson, Westin).  It’s a great area with restaurants and shops right there.

A helpful website to visit (if you haven’t already) is visitaruba.com.  They have a map of where all the resorts are so you can get an idea of how the island is set up.

Hope this helps!
