Aruba has one gorgeous beach – and that is it. Rest of the island is not so impressive nor romantic. The hotel area is a bit commercial. I would say go to any of the eastern Caribbean islands instead… any of the US virgin islands, Turks & Caicos, Barbados, St. John, St. Lucia, etc.

I disagree. I have been all over and Aruba is great! It is one of the few islands that actually has a lot of restaurants and things to do. We stayed at the Hyatt and our daily schedule would be eat breakfast, take a long walk on the beach (either direction is safe and beautiful) and you can walk for miles safely. You can do things during the day and at night there are several nice restaurants to go to and bars as well in walking distance. Where we stayed, there were restaurants and bars across the street from the front of the hotel, but when you are on the beach, you don’t see any of this. The people are great, there is virtually no crime, it’s clean, everyone there works and owns their own home, everyone speaks english and it’s very friendly. I’ve sent many people there and no one has ever been disappointed. I’m very picky and it’s tops on my list. If you send me your email I can send you some photos.

My fiance and I are huge fans of Aruba. We have been there 3 times already and plan to go there for our honeymoon. We also got engaged while there. : )
We stay at an all-inclusive hotel in the low-rise hotel area. It’s quiet, private, and beautiful there. We have taken island tours, boating tours, driven around the island ourselves, and gone scuba diving and snorkeling there. Oh and we’ve tried windsurfing too.
The people there are great, everyone speaks English, the food and water are safe to eat and drink, and there is a lot to do.

I tried a few times to post pictures. It seems like my computer has real trouble posting pics on this site. Let me know if you want me to send you any. Or let you know about anything on the island.

We did a destination wedding tour with the Aruba tourism board back in October. There’s a ton of photos on our Facebook page.
Aruba is a great little island. The weather is wonderful, you can drink the water, and there’s very little poverty or crime. It’s the kind of island where you can really get out and enjoy the local restaurants, etc.
