I’d prefer the first one, by far, because it’s a more flattering colour and looks less “bridesmaidy,” if that makes sense.

They’re beautiful! Especially it the deep purple! GAH! I voted for the second one, the pink one, only because the runching in the front hides any flaws and any food belly from eating a lot at the reception. : ) I had one similar to this style – not nearly as pretty, though – and I loved it.

They’re very similar! I like the look of the first one the best, but I think the second one might hide a tummy a little better. Sometimes dresses that are straight down through the mid section look bad if you have a bit of a stomach (like me!) So if it were me picking, I think I would go with the 2nd one so that your girls will feel great in the dress.

If the color is the first one. I like the style of the second one better.

The first one looks like it has a seam right at the waist. That would cut me right at the waist.

I like the diagonal ruching on the second, and the fact that there is no “cut in” waist so it elongates the body and the diagonal ruching flatters the figure in the middle.

I like the second gown, but the first color.  The purple is a more flattering and elegant color for all.  The second gown is more flattering for most figures.

I like the first one, I like dresses with natural waists.

I think because of your poll choices people are getting confused about the color thing. The dress is gonna be purple regardless, right?

I agree that the second style would be more flattering to a variety of figures. They are both nice choices though!

The pink one’s shape/cut would be much more flattering, especially if you have some BMs who aren’t stick skinny.  The diagonal rushing is very flattering and helps to hide flaws on people with less than perfect figures.

The cut of the first dress (purple) would likely make me look a little prego, especially after eating, as it would really show off even a small tummy.

Stupid me, I voted before reading the OP. I chose #1 because of the color, but now that I see we’re voting on the style, I like #2.

I voted wrong, too.  I didn’t realize they’d both be purple (love that color, btw).  I would chose the 2nd dress, I would feel more comfortable in it with some extra rouching.

Pink is my favorite color but I’m not really a big fan of it in bridemaid dresses so I vote for the purple. As for the style, I would much prefer to wear the first dress over the second. I feel the second would showcase the stomach if its a problem area (which it is for me).

ETA: Yep, I definitely didn’t read the whole OP either so you can disregard my color comments but I still much prefer dress 1 to dress 2.

I agree.  I love the color of the first one (so I’m glad thats your choice). They’re both gorgeous, but the 1st one does have a sophistication to it.

But, I voted for number 2.  If you have any bigger BMs (as myself) then I would prefer the rousching in the front.  It seems to be more flattering to different body types.  (IMO)

i prefer the style of the first. maybe it’s just the angle of the picture, but the second doesn’t look very flattering to me, even with the ruching.
