JiminyCricket :  “We live in a different world where political violence and extremism hide in plain sight.”

You don’t think that this has always been the world? I feel it’s pretty easy to view the past through rose colored glasses. I think it was just as dangerous if not more when Jesus lived. He did end up crucified after all. And in his day extremism didn’t even bother to hide.

herrera2016 :  have you read Reza Aslan’s book, Rebel? Jesus was considered very radical in his time, as it was. He was all kinds of anti-establishment. Which turns a lot of things on their heads. Kind of like how people are so excited about MLK now but he was very much considered radical and dangerous when he was alive.

For some people, it’s much easier to celebrate the revolutionary idea or thinker after they’re safely dead and their ideas have become the norm.
