    Option 1: All American Buffet

    Option 2: Traditonal Hot Buffet

    Go with whatever is cheapest!

@marinesfiance:  I voted for #1, because I don’t like noodles/pasta and I don’t eat casseroles. 🙂 However, I think most people love that stuff and #2 would probably be more popular with guests.

@marinesfiance:  to be honest, the first one sounds like an actual meal. The second one seems like a bunch of side dishes or potluck standards. Though they do sound delicious, so if you’re ok with a little bit of an offbeat feel, go with number 2!

I think it seems like a lot of different options. I might try and condense to just a few things, and see if that can simplify things and bring down the cost. The second option doesn’t stand out to me as something traditionally served at a wedding.

@marinesfiance:  I’d go with the second one as there are more options for your vegetarian guests.

I voted for #1, as it is a little more “special event.” If the caterer is good, usually buffet meats are in some some sort of sauce to keep them flavorful.

Can you taste the menu to make sure you feel confident in their food?

If you have any vegetarian guests they will be thankful for option #2!

Love the American option. I’d have a pretty empty plate with the “traditional” option but would be getting seconds of the American buffett!

@marinesfiance:  I voted for the first one, because of the sides. I wouldnt be happy if only sides I had was a salad and a roll.

Tradtitional sounds a bit more fun and varied!

The second one strikes me as really heavy and carb and cassarole heavy, and if that’s what your crowd likes, go for it.  Personally, I would pick number one because it would be easier for me to eat with dietary restrictions and/or have modified to accomodate me.  But I’m a weird duck out most times.

@marinesfiance:  Personally, I would pick the second one because there is a vegetarian option, but if all of your guests are meat eaters than I guess it doesn’t matter.

@Lollybags:  Food is not that cheap where I am from! I can’t even imagine paying $11 a person! I am paying $85 ( not inculding taxes and fees) a head for way less food and that is one of the lower prices in my area.

@BriansBride:  oh yeah, I definitely understand that it’s not that price all across the States, it’s just unreal to me that anywhere does it for so low though and still make money. Mine is also around the $85 a head mark for food alone too 🙁

@jijitattoo same here! meats can get super dry and steak is pretty personal. Plus, it’s cheaper! 😀 x
